🎒 Backpack Blessing at Fairmount Ave United Methodist Church

A new school year is a new journey!

Join us for our Backpack Blessing on August 30 and Gathering Sunday, September 13.

Kids and anyone who carries a backpack are invited to bring their backpack into the sanctuary. We will bless your backpack and your journey and give you a special blessing tag to carry with you throughout the year.

Inaugural Youth Week was amazing and the youth were amazing! 🙌🏻 with supper everyday AND they helped with Children’s VBS after. (7 youth — not all pictured.) this year’s topic picked from youth and volunteers’ gifts—Art, Invention, and Reformation.
Day 1: Graphic Art Novels on Martin Luther, art projects and a mystery clue game about reformation martyrs. ?Ask a Youth why we had Knight George join us?
Day 2: History and game of fonts from scribe to computer age; Wesley Brothers story and key points of Methodism development
Day 3: the wonder of cranking out a print is pure joy at the MN Center for Book Arts. Only 6 words and 45 min to set. And paper making made by machine…to then lead up to
Day 4: Lunch out and curated visit to the Luther Seminary Rare Book Room. From the first Ethiopian Christian scripture to King James to 1556 Publication of Luther’s full Bible translation from Hebrew/Greek. Ending with the Labyrinth at St Kate’s.

A Sunday Filled with Sacred Laughter!

What a beautiful day we shared at Fairmount Avenue United Methodist Church!

We gathered outdoors for worship, reflected on Psalm 126 through our message, “Sacred Laughter,” and celebrated how God turns our tears into joy.

After worship, we enjoyed a wonderful church picnic filled with good food, laughter, fellowship, and joyful memories.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special. We are grateful for our church family and the joy God continues to bring among us!

On Sunday, August 9, we will not hold worship in the sanctuary at our church building and will instead worship outdoors at Newell Park in St. Paul (900 Fairview Ave. N.) at 10:00 AM.
In the case of adverse weather, the park building is reserved for our use.

Following worship, plan to join us for our Annual Church Picnic, also at Newell Park in the park building. Please bring a picnic lunch for yourself and your family. If you are able, please bring a dish to share as we enjoy food, fellowship, and conversation as a community.
