We are a very diverse congregation, with people of all ages and from all walks of life. Ebenezer is small enough to know everybody’s name and large enough to be involved in ministries that really make a difference in our community and in our world. We hold with the traditional teaching of the United Methodist Church, that a changed heart, and a life centered on love and Christ are more important t

han what you believe. We are a Bible centered Church, but we will not ask you to abandon your rational thought. In fact we will encourage you to engage scripture with an exploring and open mind. If you are a thinking person who wants to engage scripture, social issues, and a Christian life with the excitement of an explorer, you have found the right church. Are you new to the area? We invite you to join us for a Sunday service to see for yourself what Ebenezer UMC is about. We understand that going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here’s a quick summary of what you can expect at Ebenezer. We have all had a ‘first day’ at church, you’ll find we are a friendly bunch. Relax…We want our church to be your home…

Dress how you are comfortable. Our focus is not on who wears what – but whether or not people are connecting with God and each other. Directions to Ebenezer UMC. We are located at 7000 S.E. 169 Hwy, St. Joseph, MO. Just a short drive in the country, three mile east of I29 on South 169 Hwy. Parking places are reserved for first time guests in the parking lot on the east side of the church, by the entrance ramp. You will be greeted at the door with a friendly hug and handed the church bulletin. Just enter and sit wherever you feel comfortable. Be assured that during the service you will not be singled out in any way as a visitor. We want you to relax and enjoy the service without the fear of embarrassment. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God. Service is at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday. We have a blended worship style, which means you will hear traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music. We are a pretty casual bunch! Worship is fun and uplifting, as well as a place to experience God and to be challenged by what it means to live as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. Our services are for all ages and stages. We offer children’s church for ages 6 and under. Ebenezer UMC celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2016, which is quite an accomplishment. This church has been a vital part of the surrounding community for a very long time! ​

🌅 He is Risen! 🌅

As the sun rises this Easter morning, we are reminded of the greatest victory in history—the empty tomb and the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

What once seemed like an ending became the beginning of new life, new purpose, and eternal hope.

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” – Luke 24:5-6

Join us today as we celebrate the resurrection and the promise that because He lives, we have life.

We’re collecting donations every Sunday for the next 3 weeks at the church.

🛒 Items Needed:
Spices, tea, coffee, pop-top cans, sugar, flour, salt & pepper, boxed milk, oil, seeds, stove top stuffing, pasta & sauce, tuna, crackers, salted butter, eggs, cake mix, frosting, dish soap, and feminine hygiene products.
