This morning Pastor Scott moved our Holiness & Delighting in God series from definition to application. We’ve spent weeks exploring what holiness *is* — today we explored what holiness *does*. Pastor Scott reminded us that the Christian life isn’t about conforming to the world or rebelling against it, but about being **transformed** by the renewing of our minds. We are declared righteous instantly, yet we grow in holiness over time through sanctification. And that growth shows up in everyday choices — choices that make the difference Jesus has made in us visible to the world around us. Today’s message gave us ten practical, Spirit‑empowered ways to walk out holiness in daily life.

Walking in Holiness — This Morning at Living Word
We’ve spent weeks defining holiness…
Today we step into what it actually looks like.

Pastor Scott is taking us from concepts to calling — from definitions to daily life.
What does God really expect from us?
What does it mean to walk in holiness, not just talk about it?

The answer might surprise you — and it might free you.

Join us this morning as we continue this powerful series.
God is shaping a people who look like Him.

Service begins at 9:30.
Come ready. Holiness is more than you think.

Pastor Mike shared an encouraging message about the power of prayer and how God responds when we seek Him. He explained that prayer isn’t just a spiritual habit — it’s how we receive strength, direction, and the power of the Holy Spirit. If you’re looking for hope, clarity, or a fresh start, prayer is the place to begin.

Nonconformity is something some people treat like a badge of honor. People want to stand out, to be different, to express themselves, and often, end up being different for difference's sake. But when the bible speaks about conformity, God is saying something completely different. Are we called to express our individuality, or are we actually called to conform to something else?

Tonight Pastor Mike brought a strong, timely reminder about the power and necessity of prayer. Using Jesus’ words in Luke 18 — “men ought always to pray and not faint” — he challenged us to return to a lifestyle of prayer, both personally and as a church. He emphasized that revival has always been birthed through prayer, unity, and believers who refuse to quit. Pastor Mike walked us through Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane, the authority God has given us on earth, and the biblical promise that the “effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much.” This was a call to awaken, to pray with purpose, and to believe God for revival in our homes, our church, and our nation.

Today’s message explored why Christians are called to live differently from the world around them. Pastor Scott shared how God desires His people to stand out — not in arrogance, but in love, integrity, and holiness. When our lives look different, people notice. And when life gets hard, they often turn to the people whose faith is real. If you’re searching for a faith that actually changes how you live, we’d love to walk that journey with you.

Pastor Mike shared an encouraging message about remembering the goodness of God. Drawing from Psalm 103, he talked about the “benefits” God gives — forgiveness, healing, protection, mercy, and strength. When life gets overwhelming, we can choose to speak God’s promises and trust that He is with us. If you’re looking for hope or a fresh reminder of God’s love, this message is for you.

Perhaps the oldest philosophical challenge to Christianity is "if God is all good and all powerful, why is there evil and suffering in the world?" But we might also ask, "if God is holy and just and all powerful, why do bad people seem to be blessed?" The Bible actually has a lot to say about this question, so let's take a look!

Today we honor the incredible women of our church family — the moms, the grandmas, the spiritual mothers, the mentors, the encouragers, and every woman who loves with a mother’s heart.

Whether you raised children, are raising children, long to be a mother, or have poured into the next generation in ways that may never be seen on a stage… we see you, we love you, and we thank God for you.

Your prayers, your strength, your compassion, your wisdom, and your steady presence reflect the heart of Christ in powerful ways.

Happy Mother’s Day to every woman who nurtures, leads, teaches, comforts, and loves like a mom.
You are a gift to our church and to our community.

“When Christ looks at His Church, He doesn’t see stains, wrinkles, or past failures — He sees a bride dressed in the spotless righteousness of Jesus.”

Ephesians 5:27 says He will “present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.”
Like a pristine wedding gown, our righteousness isn’t something we sew together with our own efforts. It’s something we’re clothed in — a gift of grace, given by the Groom who loves us.

Because of Jesus, we stand before God radiant, clean, and fully His.
