Amen.

Political power loves a pulpit.

In Luke 4, Satan shows Jesus the kingdoms of the world and offers Him their authority and glory.

The price: bow down.
Jesus refuses.
He recognizes it as temptation.

The Evangelical Right seems to have read that story and decided Jesus made the wrong choice.

Franklin Graham now blesses the political marriage his father Billy warned about: “The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it.”

Mike Johnson answered the Pope’s call to welcome immigrants by quoting Romans 13 and calling government God’s “agent of wrath.” While Jesus’ words about welcoming the stranger apparently did not survive committee.

Pete Hegseth wears Crusader imagery — Christianity fused with power, violence, and a body count. Not exactly a proud entry on the church résumé.

JD Vance converted to Catholicism and now warns the Pope to “be careful” discussing theology. That is like passing driver’s ed and correcting Mario Andretti on his driving technique.

They call themselves defenders of Christianity. But Jesus said we would know His followers by their fruit.

I see fear, cruelty, arrogance, vengeance, and domination.

Love, peace, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control?

Apparently those fruits taste a little "woke" so they did not make the party platform.

Empathy is weakness.
Compassion is too expensive.

But there is always money for wars, ballrooms, the wealthy — and billion dollar slush funds for insurrectionists who beat police officers.

Call it what it is: anti-Christ.
An ideology using Christ’s name
to produce the opposite of Christ.

And the biblical illiteracy and moral compromise required to call any of this Christlike is staggering.

They use S***m to condemn gay people while skipping Ezekiel, who names S***m's sins: pride, excess, comfort, and neglect of the poor.

They warn America about becoming S***m... while campaigning on S***m’s values.

Jesus refused to bow for political power.
But the Evangelical Right took the deal.

Then they convinced millions of Christians that bowing to power was standing up for Jesus.

And that, my friends, is the broad road to destruction Jesus warned about.

And it's crowded with people, despite them seeing all the evidence to the contrary, convinced they’re standing with God.
