What’s on your mind? The question is asked over and over in life I for one would answer it as follows God ,eternity ,family, choices. The older I get the more I realize the value of good choices and the pathway they can lead you down. Early in life about a year after I was married I made the most important choice I could have made “God” yes I chose to follow God this would be a radical move on my part since God was not part of what was on my “mind” except for the occasional curse word. I will never forget the night I made a decision to follow him I came home from work and began searching the house for an old Bible I was given in the 1st. grade my wife asked what I was looking for I was so embarrassed that all I said was nothing dear just looking. The next day I finally told her I was trying to find my old Bible so we went and bought a new one and that night when my wife went to work I stayed home instead of going out and carousing with my friends and I read the entire book of Genesis. What an eye opener for me and thus began a lifelong relationship with Gods word and his plan for me and my wonderful wife. My questions that were on my mind were answered one by one as I began to read his word and to attend Church. Today some 56 years later I’m still thrilled by the Word of God this morning I was reading in the book of Jeremiah 31:33 …”I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God and they shall be my my people”. Yes God will make you one of his people and write his word in your heart as is stated in llCor. 3:2~3 note especially the latter part of verse 3 …”but with the spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone ,but in fleshy tables of the heart.” To find out about those questions that are on my mind and maybe on yours also come to our service tomorrow I may just touch on them at 9:30 AM🕤 .

“Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day…” (Joshua 14:12)Caleb cried out in making his petition to Joshua he states his strength was the same as when Moses sent him to spy out the promised land. Caleb was recalling a day in his life some forty five years in the past when Moses sent the twelve men to spy out the land only he and Joshua came back with a good report. “We are well able to overcome it” Num. 13:30 Caleb at 85 was now ready to receive his inheritance, but he would still need to fight the battle. I have found out in my own life that to win any battle you must be able to fight no one else can stand in for you. We may receive help and need help but we must be able fight to receive the victors crown. I just came through a very serious surgery I had lots of people praying for me,but I still had to have the will to survive we can’t just lay down and say well God if you want me to win you will have to pull me over the finish line. That is what I like about Caleb GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN oh yes not a hand out but I am this day 85 and I remember Moses promise and now it is time to take this mountain I’m still strong just like when I was a young man.Words are important Caleb reminds us what Moses had said to him on that day “…whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance…” Josh. 14:9 remember Gods word there are many promises in it that you will be able to call on in your moment of sorrow or victory or some place in the center of those two extremes.
Josh. 14:1-15. Numbers 13:1-45

We live in uncertain times the Bible talks about “mens hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things that are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Lk. 22:26 tomorrow in Church I will again be exploring the Bible seeking out Gods answers for today’s problems. Believe me our Lord Jesus Christ has the answers for the problems that plague the world today. Some times we don’t like his answers, but that doesn’t make them wrong it just makes us wrong headed.
I will be covering Rev. 20:1-10 and Ez. 38 and 39 find out who Gog and Magog are and just who is behind all the present turmoil in the world. You won’t be surprised but it is nice to put a face on the real trouble maker.

I was just reading in the book of Daniel the second chapter he was brought to the king to not only give an interpretation of the kings dream but to tell the king what he had dreamed the past night. This dream and the interpretation of it would outline world history for the next 2600 hundred year’s. Dan. 2:36 -38tells the interpretation the head of fine gold was king Nebuchadnezzar the great Babylonian empire the arms and breast of silver would be the Medo-Persian empire then the brass belly and thighs would represent the Greek empire. The legs of iron was the Roman empire in the East and the West and finally the feet a mixture of iron and clay this is where many Bible scholars differ I will leave you to ponder this. When I was a student at CBC I had wonderful teacher and at that time the E U was just forming and he thought maybe the ten toes were the E U however there are only ten toes on the image if memory serves me correct there are more than ten nations in the E U. If you look at Europe it is a mixture of many nations since the fall of the great Roman Empire. My point is not to try and identify who the nations are and where they came from but to point out that God still rules in the affairs of men. I would encourage you to read the book of Daniel and if you have a good reference Bible follow the chain of scriptures to the end of the Bible for a clearer understanding of world events. Just maybe you will see some references to what is going on in the Ukraine and the invasion of that old bear 🐻.

The other day along Highway 30 I saw a beautiful sight sitting high in the top of a fir tree two magnificent bald eagles I guess they were waiting on lunch as they scaned the country side. They are such beautiful creatures of God they reminded me of a number of scriptures in the Old Testament. You know the daily grind of life takes a tole on ones sole and some times we just need to renew our strength.Isiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings as eagles they shall run and not be weary;and they shall walk and not faint."Such words of encouragement just to know God will renew our strength or as it is stated in Ex. 19:4 How I bare you on eagles wings... or in Deut 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms...The next time you see one of Gods eagles remember some of these scriptures and know God will renew your strength so that you can continue in the race of life and be the victor and not the victim.

In Exodus 33:12-15 Moses offers up a prayer to the Lord and God answers with these simple words "...My presence shall go with thee and I will give the rest." What men need today is the assurance of the Almighty that he is with them in all of life's trials. Some times our days are filled with uncertainty or fear and that is the time that we need that strong hand on our shoulder guiding us onward and upward. Moses had entered into the hardest task of his life when he started to lead the children of Israel out of bo***ge. You may be saying well I'm just trying to feed my family or make a decision if I should move to a new job. All of these are worthy things and worth having God direct your decision making process. It is easier to look back and say I'm so glad I made that decision but when you are at a fork in the road it is assuring to feel the steady hand of God on your shoulder saying son or daughter go this way. Remember he is promises to give us his peace. "My peace give I unto thee not as the world giveth" Jn. 14:27.
