📖 Romans Chapter 7 📖

Romans 7 shows us the true purpose of God’s law: not to save us, but to expose the sin that already lives within us.
The law is holy and good — yet when its light shines on our hearts, it reveals how deep our sin runs and how powerless we are to defeat it on our own.

This chapter reminds us that the law diagnoses the problem, but only Christ delivers us from it.

📖 “Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!” — Romans 7:24–25

The law reveals our sin.
Our sin reveals our need.
And our need drives us to Christ — the only One who can free us.

⚠️ Keep On Sinning? ⚠️

In Romans 6:15-23 Paul asks, if we’re saved by grace… why not just keep living in sin?

The answer is simple and devastating: because grace changes who your master is.

Before Christ, sin wasn’t just something we did — it was the power that ruled us.
Under sin’s reign, sin was our default, our instinct, our master.
But when Christ saves us, He doesn’t just forgive us — He frees us.
We become slaves to righteousness, slaves to obedience, slaves to a new Master who gives life instead of death.

Under sin, we didn’t care about holiness.
Under Christ, we actually desire to do what’s right.
Grace doesn’t make sin safer — grace makes sin unthinkable.

This is the miracle of Romans 6:
New Master. New heart. New desires. New life.

Zion Bible Church — Two‑Year Anniversary

A Prayer of Remembrance and Renewal

O Lord, our God,
You have been faithful from the beginning.
You called a people to Yourself in the desert places,
and You planted a church where the gospel was scarce.
From Red Mesa Fellowship You stirred hearts to go again,
and from prayer and dependence You brought forth Zion Bible Church.

We remember how You provided land before we had a building,
how You gave a tent before we had walls,
and how You turned a school gym into a sanctuary of praise.
You gathered families, raised up elders and deacons,
and knit us together as a faith‑family.

You have multiplied our fellowship,
deepened our love for Your Word,
and made our worship a testimony of Your grace.
You have opened doors for mission,
strengthened hands for service,
and filled hearts with joy in Christ.

And now, Lord, we look ahead.
As You guided Israel from tents to a temple,
guide us from borrowed spaces to the home You are preparing.
May this building rise not for our comfort,
but for Your glory — a place where Your gospel is proclaimed,
Your people are equipped, and Your name is exalted.

Keep us humble, steadfast, and dependent.
Guard us from pride and complacency.
Let every stone and every soul here testify:
“The Lord has done this.”

Remember Your servants, O God,
and bless the work of our hands.
May the story You are writing continue —
until all nations know that Jesus Christ is Lord.

🔗 Who do you serve? 🔗

In Romans 6:15-23 we learn that every person lives under a master.
Paul doesn’t soften the language — we are either slaves to sin or slaves to Christ. No one stands in the middle. Before salvation, sin owned us. It shaped our desires, ruled our decisions, and paid out its only wage: death.

But Christ stepped in and bought us with His blood.
He paid the full price for our sins, not only to free us from our old master, but to bring us joyfully under His rule. We call Him Lord because we gladly acknowledge His authority over our lives. No one likes to picture themselves as a slave — yet Scripture says this is exactly what we are. The only question is whose.

As Paul writes:

“But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God…” — Romans 6:22

There are only two masters.
Only one gives life.
