Is anyone at Moniac BC, FBC of St. George, FBC of Cuyler, New Life BC, Grace BF, FBC of Sanderson, Baxter Community BC, Pine Level BC, Macedonia BC or any other Baptist church in the Baker/Charlton County area planning or interested in planning and participating in a "Back to School" event for teens at Moniac BC or one of your churches or some other venue in late August or early September? For various reasons, now that February has passed, ITL is now a little off the quarterly schedule. But that's ok as long as we don't totally abandon the practice of getting together once in a while, right? Anyone who has some good ideas & dates in April or May for an event, please post them in the comments here. The Jason Lovins Band (one of the best bands in the land for this type of event) is going to be somewhat close to our area in the next couple of months so we might be able to get them to come in for the worship service portion.

Those who are going downtown to minister to the homeless need to be at MBC by 12:30 this Saturday so we can be on the road by 1pm. We will set up to serve food, give out clothing & Gospel tracts & sing in the park at Hemming Plaza (N. Laura Street at Duval Street). We'll be there for at least a couple of hours or while supplies & good weather last. Then we'll come back to MBC for fellowship & Christian movies from about 5pm to 8pm. Everyone should eat lunch BEFORE we go downtown.

So here's the plan once again for anyone who's interested in participating in ITL5 on Saturday, November 23rd: We will be ministering to the homeless in downtown Jacksonville with food, clothing, prayer, preaching & printed gospel tracts from about 2pm until about 5pm (the exact location has yet to be determined, but will probably be either Hemming Plaza or the River front), and then we'll head back to MBC for a couple of hours or so of fellowship & Christian movies (from about 6pm until somewhere between 8pm & 9pm). The bus/van will be leaving MBC to go downtown at 1pm for those who need a ride or want to follow us. Info about the exact location and the parking situation will be forthcoming. I encourage all of you not to bring any students downtown who are immature & don't know how to behave and would not be there for the right reasons. We don't need to have to deal with or worry about behavior problems while we're down there. I'm totally leaving how you handle this with your students up to you, but as far as the MBC students go, if they're questionable, they are not allowed to go unless their parents come with them. The fellowship time & movies at MBC at 6pm is a little more open. We'll have enough adult supervision there and the environment will be structured & controlled enough that we can invite & welcome anyone. If anyone wants to just come to that instead of going downtown, that's fine too. Just bring some snack foods & drinks and be ready to hang out & participate in some godly fellowship & ministry with the students, some of whom will want to see the movie(s), and some will just want to hang out in the fellowship hall. Hope we see you there!!

Ok....who's in? We're leaving MBC at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 23rd to go downtown. We'll minister to the homeless for 2 or 3 hours and head back for some fellowship time.

The date & time for ITL5 has been set for Saturday, November 16th @ 1:00pm. We've decided to take it to the streets of downtown Jacksonville...well....to a city park in downtown Jacksonville anyway. The plan is to meet at MBC (if you need transportation or need to convoy so you don't get lost) and we'll load up with our praise team, donations of warm clothing items, some big pots of chili or soup and some Gospel tracts and head downtown. We'll be reaching out with some hot food, warm clothes, worship music and most importantly, the Word of God to the people on the street. Hopefully the students will get to witness and engage the culture (or at least get see their leaders & peers witnessing & engaging the culture). Afterwords, we'll come back to MBC for an evening of fellowship and the showing of a good Christian movie. The exact location downtown and the title of the movie have not been determined as of yet, so stay tuned for updates. MBC will provide the Gospel tracts and the hot food. We also have a bus for transportation (if needed). All other churches who wish to participate are requested to provide "ample adult supervision" for the number of students you bring and to have as many people in your group as possible ready to share the Gospel & their own personal testimonies. You may also bring the following items: warm clothing donations (start collecting now), sweets & fresh fruit (or other colld food items), bottled water, coffee or cocoa mix, disposable cups, bowls & spoons. MBC will provide everything needed for the meal & movie night after the mission work (pizza, hot dogs, drinks, sweets, popcorn, etc...), but if anyone wants to pitch in some funds to help defray the cost, that would be awesome & much appreciated.
