Solid Rock Baptist Church St. George Solid Rock Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist Church in St. George, Utah. We would love for you to come and be a part of this family.

Our desire is to provide a place where you can build your life and family upon the Word of God. We want to take the timeless truths of God’s Word and help you to apply them to your life. At Solid Rock, we want to create a loving and welcoming community of believers who share the common vision of making Christ known to the whole world, beginning right here in Southern Utah.

The book of Jude is a powerful call to "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" (1:3).

Jude warns us that false teachers can creep in unawares, but we can stand firm by building ourselves up in our most holy faith and praying in the Holy Ghost. Our God is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before His presence with exceeding joy.

"Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." (1:21)

Contend for the Truth today.

Our actions reveal the condition of our hearts. In 3 John, we see a contrast between the faithful hospitality of Gaius and the prideful, controlling nature of Diotrephes.

John encourages us to "follow not that which is evil, but that which is good" (3 John 1:11). When we support true ministers and show hospitality to our brethren, we become "fellowhelpers to the truth" (3 John 1:8).

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." (3 John 1:2)

May we be a people known for our faithfulness and our love for the truth.

Truth and love are the two pillars of the Christian walk. In 2 John, the "elder" writes to remind us to walk in the truth we have received from the beginning.

It’s not enough to just have love; we must have love that is grounded in the Truth of who Jesus Christ is. We are warned to be on guard against deceivers who deny Christ and to not give them our endorsement.

"And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it." (2 John 1:6)

Let's stay faithful to the Word of God.

What a blessing it is to be called the children of God! In 1 John 3:1, we see the incredible love the Father has bestowed upon us. This love isn't just a feeling; it’s a mark of our new life in Christ.

John tells us that "God is love" (1 John 4:8) and that our love for one another is the evidence that we know Him. When we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, we have the victory that overcomes the world.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life" (1 John 5:13)

Rest in the assurance of His love today.

Walking in the light isn't just a phrase; it's a way of life for the believer. In our Daily Bible Debrief on 1 John 1-2, we see that true fellowship with God requires honesty.

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7)

We all face the struggle with sin, but the promise is clear: if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us (1 John 1:9). Knowing Jesus as our Advocate gives us the strength to live for Him every day.

Our profession of faith must be matched by our life and purity of heart. The Bible warns in Titus 1:14-16 about turning from the truth to religious traditions. True purity starts on the inside.

"Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled." (Titus 1:15)

It is not enough to just say we know God; our lives and our works should reflect His truth. When our hearts are pure through Christ, our actions will follow.

True correction leads to restoration. The Bible tells us in Titus 1 13 to rebuke error so that believers may be sound in the faith. This soundness means having a heart and mind that are healthy and established in the Truth.

When we are sound in the faith we are not easily moved by false ideas or empty talk. We find our stability in the Word of God alone. Our goal is to grow together in a faith that is pure and strong.

Truth must be guarded. The Bible warns us in Titus 1 10 that there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers. These are people who use words to confuse and lead others away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

When we know the Word of God we can stand firm. We do not have to be moved by every new idea or empty talk. Our foundation is the Truth and that Truth is found in Christ alone.

It is important for the church to remain orderly and focused on the faithful Word. We must be careful about what we listen to and what we allow into our hearts.

A life built on the Truth is a life marked by virtue. The Bible tells us in Titus 1 8 and 9 that we should be lovers of good, sober, just, holy, and temperate. This is the character that comes from holding fast to the faithful Word of God.

When we stand on the Bible, we have the strength to encourage others and the clarity to see the Truth. Our goal is to be a community where God's Word is the final authority and where our lives reflect His grace.

God entrusts His work to those who walk with Him. In Titus 1 7 we see that a leader must be blameless as the steward of God. This means we are caretakers of what belongs to Him. A steward is not self-willed or soon angry. They are controlled by the Spirit, not by their own desires or temper.

When we represent Christ, our character matters. We are not just building a church; we are building lives on the Truth. This starts with a heart that is surrendered to God's will.

Tomorrow we gather to hear more from God's Word. We hope to see you there!
