Sheriff Stassi Announces Will Danielfield, Jr., Chief Criminal Deputy

Sheriff Brett Stassi is proud to announce the appointment of Will Danielfield, Jr., as the new Chief Criminal Deputy for the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Danielfield has served as Captain over Uniform Patrol since 2019. During his tenure, he has earned the respect and trust of both his fellow deputies and the citizens of Iberville Parish through his leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to service.

A 1997 graduate of East Iberville High School, Chief Danielfield is a 26-year veteran of the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office. He began his law enforcement career in 2000 as a uniform patrol officer. His passion for the profession and dedication to the community quickly set him apart, leading to his promotion through the ranks: first to Shift Sergeant, then Shift Lieutenant, and in 2019 to Captain over Uniform Patrol. In 2025, he also assumed the role of Captain over Communications.

Chief Danielfield is known for his strong leadership, integrity, and deep sense of duty. He values the relationships he has built within the department and often describes his colleagues as more than coworkers—they are family. His commitment to public service and to the people of Iberville Parish remains at the core of his work.
Outside of his professional life, Chief Danielfield is devoted to his family. He and his wife, Cheryl Hasten Danielfield, have been happily married for 24 years and are the proud parents of two children, Heaven and Hudson. The family enjoys spending time together, especially supporting their son in football and baseball and visiting their daughter when she is home from college.
The Danielfields are active members of Iberville Christian Center in St. Gabriel, where they regularly attend services. Chief Danielfield is a man of strong faith, family values, and community spirit. His compassion for others and dedication to serving Iberville Parish are evident in all that he does.

Sheriff Stassi expressed full confidence in Chief Danielfield’s ability to serve in this new role, citing his leadership, professionalism, commitment to service, and loyalty as defining qualities that make him the right choice to help lead the department forward.
Reflecting on his career, Chief Danielfield spoke from the heart about the people he serves alongside and the responsibility he now carries. He emphasized that every milestone in his journey has been a shared one—built through teamwork, trust, and a bond that goes far beyond the job itself.

“This isn’t about me,” he said. “Every step I’ve taken in this department has been alongside a team that shows up for each other every single day. We work together, we grow together, and we carry each other through the hard times. That’s what makes this place special.”

He continued, “I’m proud of the work we’ve done, but even more proud of the people I get to do it with. This department is a family, and everything we accomplish is because of who we are together.”

Chief Danielfield also expressed his sincere gratitude to Sheriff Stassi for the opportunity to serve in this new capacity. “I am truly honored and grateful that Sheriff Stassi has entrusted me with this responsibility,” he said. “It’s something I do not take lightly, and I am committed to continuing to serve this department and this parish to the very best of my ability.”
