Week 2 of Between the Lines looked at one of the most misunderstood words in the entire New Testament — meek. Using the story of Australia's GPS drift and the surprising history of how English words change over time, we traced the word meek from Psalm 37 through the Greek New Testament to 1611 and discovered that "blessed are the meek" has nothing to do with weakness — and everything to do with power under discipline. Come back next week as the series continues.

We kicked off Between the Lines this week — a new series about reading Scripture carefully in a world full of competing voices. Using the story of a musical highway in California that was built wrong twice from the same flawed blueprint, we looked at how one unstated assumption can send you in the wrong direction even with the best intentions. We also took a fresh look at the parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl — and discovered that the most powerful reading isn't about what we give up to follow Jesus, but what Jesus gave up to find us.

This week in Love Apologetics we looked at the Good Samaritan through a first-century lens — and found that the priest and Levite who walked past the wounded man weren't simply cold-hearted, they were navigating a genuine conflict between ritual purity laws and neighbor-love. Jesus doesn't answer the lawyer's question (who is my neighbor?) but instead asks who was a neighbor — shifting the focus from who we're obligated to help to what kind of person we're called to be. The application is simple and hard: stop asking who you have to love, and start asking who you can be a neighbor to. See you next Sunday for the final week of Love Apologetics — Love Yourself.

Sunday Recap:
This week in Love Apologetics, we explored what it actually means to “love God” through Jesus’ answer to the greatest commandment in Matthew 22. Rather than defining love as a vague feeling, we reframed biblical love as “commitment in action” — a whole-life orientation toward God that naturally shapes how we treat our neighbors, our families, and ourselves.
