We were delighted to welcome Peter Kang home last week for a visit. Father Peter brought some UVA students to Louisiana for an immersive tour to learn about ministries in the church and the people who serve in them. We are glad Grace Church was part of the tour!

Our service yesterday started in candlelight. Due to a downed tree, we had no power. Since the organ didn’t have power, Jennifer played the first hymn on the flute. Just before the processional started, the lights came on. It was a beautiful, serene start to the service and seemed wonderfully appropriate for this season of Advent.

“Almighty and gracious Father, we give thee thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us, we beseech thee, faithful stewards of thy great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of thy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.”
We rejoice and welcome the newly baptized on All Saints Sunday and the newly confirmed and received on Christ the King Sunday. We are thankful for our and her visit Christ the King Sunday. Thanks be to God.

It’s almost here! The 250th Marine Corps birthday is approaching, and we will have a celebration at Grace Church! The service is always beautiful as we recognize General Barrow’s contributions to the Marine Corps. The 250th promises to be an extra special occasion!
