MESSAGE PREVIEW
"Don't judge a Book by its cover!" It's a familiar saying but too often one we ignore as we value someone based on outside factors like their hometown, their parents or siblings, or their looks. In our Focus Text this week one of the disciples dismisses the news of the Messiah becuase Jesus was from a small town with an ordinary reputation. Jesus shows the disciple and us that the extraordinary work of God can come from ordinary people and places!
You are invited to worship at Bethlehem on Sunday at 9:30am or if you're unable to make it in person you are also welcome to worship along with the online video premiering on Facebook at 5:00pm on Saturday and available for on-demand viewing (or re-viewing) throughout the week.

First words are an important introduction to a character in a book or movie. A character’s first words often point to their purpose or core traits. In our Focus Text this week we hear the first words of Jesus in the Gospel of John: “What are you looking for?” Jesus is asking the would-be disciples what they are seeking from life, not offering to help them find the last item on their grocery list. His first words show us that he will help the disciples find their own purpose, a first-hand experience of God’s AGAPe Love, a true sense of belonging in a community, and all they have been looking for.
These weekly videos are offered as an opportunity to join Bethlehem in worship even when you are unable to attend in person on Sundays at 9:30am, as we move to ONE Service for Summer at BLC, our intentional summer schedule to build community, belonging, and continue sharing God’s AGAPe love.

As we mark the Day of Pentecost we are reminded of how the Holy Spirit equips us with all sorts of 'languages' that can be used to share the impact of God's love on our lives. When we know the same ‘lingo’ of a shared interest, passion, or vocation, we have an established connection that makes sharing God’s love easier. We can find belonging when we share a common lingo and in belonging we can discover God’s AGAPe love at work in those around us.
These weekly videos are offered as an opportunity to join Bethlehem in worship even when you are unable to attend in person on Sundays at 9:30am, as we move to ONE Service for Summer at BLC, our intentional summer schedule to build community, belonging, and continue sharing God’s AGAPe love.

Bethlehem hosts a Free Community Meal on the Fourth Saturday of each month, in May that falls on Memorial Day Weekend.
URGENT Help is needed for this meal: from Meal Prep, to Serving, to Clean-up, volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 23 (prep starts at 9am and Clean-up is usually done by 1:45pm). Donations for the Meal like Salads, Fruit, and Milk are also desperately needed!
