WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO CONTROL THAT GOD IS ASKING YOU TO SURRENDER?

There are things in life we can influence.

There are things we are responsible for.

And there are things that are simply outside of our control.

Biblical wisdom teaches us to trust God while remaining faithful with what He has placed in our hands.

This week, try asking yourself:

What is mine to do?

What do I need to surrender to God?

Then pause:

LISTEN → THINK → PRAY → RESPOND

“I cannot always control what happens around me, but with God's help I can learn to respond differently.”

If you're walking through grief, difficult relationships, emotional struggles, or a difficult season of life, send me a private message to learn more about our biblical counseling services.

Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!”
— Isaiah 6:3

As I looked at these clouds today, I was reminded that creation itself declares the glory of God.

The heavens declare His glory.
The clouds remind us of His majesty.
The wind reminds us of His power.
And every part of creation points us back to the One who created it all.

Sometimes, when life feels heavy, uncertain, or overwhelming, we need to look up and remember who God is.

He is holy.
He is sovereign.
He is faithful.
He is worthy of our trust.

Perhaps today the clouds are giving us a reminder:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord.”
Even the heavens cry out, declaring His glory.

Whatever you are facing today, lift your eyes and remember who sits on the throne. Your circumstances may change, but God does not.

“All things are possible for one who believes.”
— Mark 9:23

Sometimes we read this verse and think believing means we should never struggle, never feel afraid, or never have questions.

But biblical faith isn’t pretending everything is okay.

Faith is choosing to trust God even when we don’t know how the story will end.

When you’re facing a difficult marriage, a family crisis, grief, anxiety, uncertainty, or a situation completely outside your control, your emotions may tell you to panic.

But God’s Word calls you to bring those emotions to Him.

You don’t have to understand everything to trust Someone who does.

Your circumstances may change.
Your feelings may change.
The outcome may be uncertain.

But God remains faithful.

Today, don’t let fear have the final word. Take your thoughts captive, return to God’s Word, and remind your heart of who God is.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”

-Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

Prayer is not just something we do in a crisis it's a way of living. God invites us to bring every worry, decision, joy, and burden before Him. As we continually seek Him, our hearts are reminded that we are never facing life's challenges alone.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or weary, don't let your struggles keep you from God. Let them draw you closer to Him. Every prayer is an opportunity to rest in His presence and trust His faithful care.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.”
- Psalm 56:3

David wrote Psalm 56 during one of the most frightening times in his life. He had fled from King Saul and was captured by the Philistines in Gath (1 Samuel 21:10–15). His future was uncertain, and he feared for his life.

Instead of pretending he wasn’t afraid, David admitted his fear to God. Notice that David did not say, “I am never afraid.” He said, “When I am afraid…” Fear was real, but it did not control him. David made a deliberate choice to place his trust in the Lord.

Trust is not the absence of fear, it is choosing to rely on God’s character even when circumstances feel overwhelming.

Through every season, You have been my strength.

At times, the Lord humbles us, not to break us, but to remind us that we need Him. In those moments, we learn that His grace is sufficient and His strength never fails.

In a world filled with distractions, Jesus calls us back to a simple, wholehearted trust in Him. Not a life of striving, but of surrender. Not depending on ourselves, but resting in His faithfulness.

My prayer is simple:

"Lord, keep my heart focused on You. Thank You for being my strength through every season. Help me trust You more and walk closely with You each day."

📖 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." — Psalm 46:1
