The Waves Collective

The Waves Collective The Waves Collective is a community for those navigating life after divorce—singleness, co-parenting, remarriage, and rebuilding.

Rooted in Scripture, we walk together in healing, discipleship, and forward-focused faith. Waves Ministries exists to help the divorced encounter Jesus and rise in their identity and relationship with Christ. Rooted in the truth that “mightier than the waves of the sea is the Lord on high” (Psalm 93:4), this ministry is a place of hope, restoration, and discipleship for men and women walking throu

gh life after divorce. Our heart is to see lives renewed, faith strengthened, and people reminded that in Christ, no storm has the final word.

After months of writing, praying, studying, and refining, I’m excited to officially release Divorced, Not Defeated.
This is not a memoir.
It’s not my story.
It’s a biblical study designed to help individuals navigate healing, identity, discipleship, and rebuilding life after divorce through the lens of Scripture.
Too often, people are left trying to figure out what comes next after divorce. This study was created to help answer that question with biblical truth, practical application, and honest reflection.
And this is only the beginning.
Starting in July, The Waves Collective will be launching a 12-week group study cohort where we’ll walk through Divorced, Not Defeated together in community. This group will be designed for those who are ready to move beyond simply surviving divorce and begin pursuing healing, freedom, discipleship, and a deeper relationship with Christ.
Whether you’re newly divorced, years removed from divorce, or simply looking to break unhealthy cycles and grow in your faith, this study was written with you in mind.
Join us June 5 as we celebrate the official release of Divorced, Not Defeated at The First Waves Gathering.
Because healing is possible.
Freedom is possible.
And your story isn’t over.

Meet Ainsley.

One of the things I’ve learned over the past few years is that worship has a way of reaching places that words can’t.

I’ve walked into church carrying all the good things, but so many times the heavy things too…the heartbreak, questions, fear, disappointment, and uncertainty more times than I can count. Yet somehow, in the middle of a song, God has a way of reminding me who He is and who I am because of Him.

I had seen and heard Ainsley lead worship several times before one Sunday I noticed she was leading one of my favorite songs, “The Lord Will Provide,” with tears running down her face. After service, I, a stranger 😅, walked right up to her and asked if she needed a hug.

What stood out to me wasn’t just her voice, it was her heart.

So when I began praying about this gathering and who should lead us into worship, Ainsley was the person God immediately put on my heart. I’m so excited to have Ainsley Halvorsen leading worship at our first Waves Gathering.

Ainsley serves as a worship leader at The Church of Eleven22 and has a passion for creating spaces where people can encounter Jesus and respond freely to His presence.

Before we have conversations about healing, identity, relationships, and rebuilding, we’ll begin by fixing our eyes on the One who makes healing possible in the first place.

After divorce, I discovered something that surprised me. There were plenty of people willing to talk about what happened, but far fewer willing to disciple people through what comes next with biblical truth. The healing. The rebuilding. The loneliness. The questions. The identity crisis that often follows when a marriage ends and you’re left trying to figure out who you are, where you belong, and what God has for your future.

The Waves Collective was born from that gap. Not as a support group. Not as a place to stay stuck in the past. Not as a place to debate divorce. But as a place to be discipled.

Because healing is only part of the goal.

The reality is that many people leave one unhealthy relationship only to find themselves repeating the same patterns in the next one. Statistics show that second marriages fail at even higher rates than first marriages. And for those who remain single, many continue carrying wounds, fears, unhealthy attachments, and beliefs that keep them trapped in cycles they never intended to repeat.

The goal isn’t simply to survive divorce. The goal is transformation.

We want to become so rooted in Christ that our identity is no longer shaped by our past, our wounds, our fears, or our relationship status. Our mission is to disciple those navigating life after divorce into a deeper identity, greater healing, and a stronger relationship with Christ. Through Scripture, prayer, and Christ-centered community, we create spaces where faith is strengthened and lives are anchored in hope.

We believe your identity is not found in your marital status. We believe your past does not get the final word. We believe healing is possible. We believe freedom is possible. We believe God still has purpose for your life. And we believe discipleship doesn’t stop because a marriage ended.

The vision of The Waves Collective is to see men and women restored and discipled into confident, Christ-centered lives—free from stigma, grounded in biblical truth, and equipped to move forward with wisdom, freedom, and purpose.

Because the goal isn’t just to heal from the past.

It’s to stop repeating it.

Meet the Panelists.

One of the things I love most about The Waves Collective is that it’s not built around one person’s story. It’s built around a community of people who have walked through difficult seasons, encountered God’s faithfulness, and are willing to share what they’ve learned along the way.

On June 5, you’ll hear from a panel of voices with unique experiences, perspectives, and testimonies to share. Together, we’ll talk about healing, identity, faith, relationships, and what it looks like to keep moving forward when life doesn’t go as planned.

I’m honored to share the stage with Melissa, Nick and Lindsey, and I can’t wait for you to meet them.

Join us for an evening of worship, conversation, fellowship, and the official release of Divorced, Not Defeated.

One thing I’m realizing is that there’s a huge misconception about what The Waves Collective actually is.

This is not just a community for divorced women.
And it’s not built around victimhood, bitterness, or staying stuck in the past.

Waves exists because divorce and brokenness don’t just affect one person.
They impact entire families.
Parenting.
Co-parenting.
Blended families.
Children.
Faith.
Identity.
Community.

Some people here are divorced.
Some are remarried.
Some are supporting a friend or family member through it.
Some grew up in broken homes and are still healing from what those experiences shaped in them years ago.

At the core, Waves is about healing, rebuilding, discipleship, and learning how to navigate hard seasons anchored in Christ instead of shame.

Because survival is not the goal.
Healing is.

I didn’t even know this was going to BE a book.

It started as a simple PDF devo.

And somehow… over the last 6 months… it evolved into this beautiful resource that I truly could have never dreamed up on my own.

Through wise counsel, an incredible editor and publisher, and a whole lot of stretching, God kept expanding the vision far beyond what I originally saw for it.

I still remember the conversation when they told me:
“This is not some poolside read. This is a tool. This is a study.”

Then came:
Add the prayers.
Add the reflection questions.
Slow people down and help them sit with the Lord through it.

And honestly? That stretched me.

There were moments I sat in coffee shops editing this book and my own words brought me to tears because I could physically see how God was refining not just the pages… but me too. Not to mention the memories of own healing journey and how tenderly God makes beauty from ashes.

Watching this “little PDF” evolve into what is now Divorced, Not Defeated has been incredibly mind blowing to me, and God gets every ounce of the glory for it.

And now reading kind words being spoken over this book by people I deeply respect, admire, and trust spiritually has honestly left me speechless.

This book was born out of brokenness, obedience, healing, wrestling, Scripture, grief, hope, and the relentless faithfulness of God.

And somehow… it’s almost here
