Hello Friends, This Saturday July 19th is our regular day to open the cemetery. Last month Karen and Paula held down the fort allowing over 100 visitors to learn about our hisoric cemetery. I plan on being there from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. I hope you will join us. All my best, Charles Tingley, president Friends of the Huguenot Cemetery, Inc.

On the Third Saturday of the month, weather permitting, the Friends of the Huguenot Cemetery open the gates to the public from 11 am until 2 pm. Volunteers are on hand to answer questions and acquaint visitors with some of the more interesting and lesser known historical stories connected with those interred here. There is no charge to wander the grounds but donations are gratefully accepted.

The donations collected each month are used for the restoration of the monuments and grounds. The pictures presented here are of the marble headstone of John Manucy 1820 -1870 which was badly damaged during a recent hurricane. A well known local sculptor, Joe Segal, a Flagler College graduate, was hired to restore the headstone. The stone was broken into many small pieces and had to be carefully reassembled using marble dust and epoxy. The cost for this restoration was $1,000. Other similar projects have cost upwards of several thousand dollars. There are more projects that need to be done including the replacement of the front gate. As projects are completed photographs will be posted.
