THIS WEEKEND: Passing of the Mantle
May 30-31 | All Worship Hours

This weekend we welcome the Nativity community as we mark the transition of leadership with the installation of Pastor Angela LaMoore as Senior Pastor. This Saturday evening, Bishop Jen Nagel will perform the installation. For our Sunday worship, Assistant to the Bishop, Jen Collins, will preside over the installation.

We offer gratitude for Pastor Glenn’s tenure as Pastor and together welcome a new chapter as Pastor Angela steps into the lead clergy role. Pastor Glenn will take time off this summer and will then return in a part-time role focused on pastoral care and development. Nativity will hold a formal celebration for Pastor Glenn this fall.

Join us in remembrance and prayer this Memorial Day.

Remember, mourn and give thanks for those in the military who gave their lives for justice, peace and the freedom of our country and all nations. Pray for the safety of those currently serving in the military and for the well-being of their families. —Prayer Ventures

Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has released a statement on the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

“As the ELCA, we must speak plainly: violence rooted in hatred is sin. We condemn Islamophobia and acknowledge its rise in recent years. Our church affirms that “anti-Muslim hatred is antithetical to our Christian faith” (A Declaration of the ELCA to the Muslim Community), for we are called to love our neighbor in ways that cast out fear (1 John 4:18).”

When I was installed as your presiding bishop, the preacher proclaimed that in times of division, disruption and fear, God calls us, through love, to lift up one another just as Christ lifts us up. I have taken that to heart and been alert to all the ways in which we, made into God’s own beloved t...

Join us this Sunday for a special presentation on "Earth-Friendly End-of-Life Options."
Sunday, May 17 | 9:00-10:00 am | Fellowship Hall

Most of us are very familiar with traditional end-of-life choices like caskets, vaults and standard cremation. But did you know there are newer, gentler ways to return to the Earth that align with our sustainability goals? Join us for an informative session on green burials with speakers from Interra and Roselawn Cemetery. This program is sponsored by Nativity's Environment & Sustainability Outreach.
