Join Nativity’s Adult Music Ministry!

Nativity’s Adult Choir season begins Wednesday, September 9, and we would love to welcome new members! The commitment includes a weekly Wednesday evening rehearsal (6:30-8:00 pm) plus two weekends a month when choir members are invited to sing at all weekend services they are able to attend.

We have fun and work hard! We also care for one another and provide a highly-valued ministry to the Nativity community. All teens and adults are welcome, regardless of choir experience or musical capabilities. If interested, email Director of Music Ministry, Jeanne Cotter, at [email protected].

REMINDER 📣📣📣 This weekend's worship (August 15-16) will be in the Fellowship Hall, since construction is underway in the sanctuary. Please reserve North Lot parking spaces for those who need to use same-level parking. The West Lot has ample parking for those who are comfortable with stairs.

We hope you enjoy a little sneak peek 👀 at all the progress in our sanctuary, Commons, offices, and upstairs kitchen. August has been a topsy-turvy month around Nativity, but it's inspiring to see how quickly things are coming together! Thank you to everyone who has helped make this construction possible through your gifts and assistance.

Join the Block Party!
Wednesday, August 12, 5:00-8:00 pm
Redeemer Lutheran, 800 Glenwood Ave. N. in Minneapolis

Redeemer Lutheran Church is throwing a Block Party, and we have an opportunity to join in the fun! The Block Party is an annual collaboration among many churches, including Nativity. Join Nativity and other partner churches in connecting with our neighbors to share fun and fellowship. There will be freshly made pizzas from the pizza oven, burgers, hot dogs, and root beer floats along with kids' art and games, a bouncy house, live music, a dunk tank, and more!

Volunteers for this larger community event are needed in many areas. Check the link in the comments for all the details on helping at the event and for sign-up. Options included helping with setup/cleanup, grill support, pizza making, food serving, kids' games and bouncy house help, face painting, and dunk tank volunteers!

Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry has issued his third in a series of monthly messages that continue through the end of this year, titled “All Together in One Place."

Each message will share a pastoral word, rooted in Scripture, that witnesses to God's presence today, our rich theological tradition and the social teaching that connects us.

THIS WEEKEND: Let's Start the Prayer Chain!

Nativity will offer a community prayer wall at VillageFest next week, and this weekend we're putting the first rows in place! Following worship this weekend, we invite you to share a prayer on the colored paper in the Commons and link it up with others to help create a colorful prayer chain that will grab people's attention and imagination next weekend!

Visitors to the Nativity VillageFest booth will be invited to share a prayer and attach it to the chain (or offer a more private prayer in a closed prayer box). It's our way to showing that Nativity cares for the greater community. Nativity's prayer team and our Wednesday morning Bible study will be praying over the prayer chain contributions in the coming weeks.

Only a week until VillageFest! 💙

Join us in Friday's VillageFest Parade or help/stop by the Nativity booth on Saturday.

Walk with Nativity & NCFC in the Parade!
Friday, July 31 | 6:30 pm
Come walk (or ride) with us for a time-honored tradition as we demonstrate our love for God and neighbor in the community! We won't do dinner this year, but please join us before the parade at 6:30 pm in the St. Charles Borromeo parking lot. We'll have signs to carry (come grab your favorite!) and candy to hand out for the parade at 7:00 pm. ALSO: Please wear your "We Are Nativity" shirt or pick one up at the Welcome Desk the weekends before the event!

Donate Candy for the Parade!
If you’re unable to join us, we always run out of candy each year and would love to have more to distribute along the parade route! Please donate any individually wrapped, non-chocolate-based candy anytime through the end of the month. Donations can be left at the Welcome Desk around weekend worship hours and during business hours during the week.

Help Out at the New Nativity Booth!
Saturday, August 1st | 12:00-5:00 pm
Brand new for 2026--a Nativity booth! On Saturday afternoon, we'll be hosting a booth in the parking lot near the fire station, handing out free drinks and other items, sharing information about our programming, and offering a prayer wall where people can write out anonymous prayers. We especially need help with setup and tear-down that day.

Want to be part of the VillageFest fun? Please contact Joanne Griffin at [email protected].
