Construction began yesterday in Nativity offices and upstairs kitchen. We'll share some weekly highlights as projects progress. This week we wanted to share one last packing photo. This weekend a crew of volunteers packed up the collection of Nativity sets, and Tori Setterholm brought the office artwork into storage for the coming months. Thank you for all the assistance in getting ready for this summer's Building Belonging Phase 2 and for all the generous contributions that will make such a difference in our church spaces over the coming months!

Nativity celebrates Pride Month and affirms our commitment as a Reconciling in Christ congregation to welcoming and affirming people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions. Throughout June we’ll enjoy worship, music, and preaching that lift up the ongoing work of welcome, inclusion, celebration, and advocacy for our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ.

Summer Sermon Series/All Are Welcome/The Story of Acts
Throughout the month of June
After his resurrection, Jesus leaves his disciples with the call to go and serve as his witnesses to the very ends of the earth. The book of Acts tells the story of how the disciples do just that as Christianity expands, evolves, and becomes increasingly inclusive of people from all walks of life.

This June, in alignment with Pride Month, we will dwell together in these stories from Acts, examining how we can continue to grow as a community of faith where we can truly say, “All are Welcome.”

Special Musical Guest
June 13-14 | All Worship Hours
M.T. Pockets & Loose Change—including Nativity’s Dr. Rachel Becker-Warner—will return this Pride Month to bring their uplifting blend of classic soul, R&B, Motown, swing, and pop to worship.

Letter Writing to Support Our LGBTQIA+ Siblings
June 13-14 after all worship hours | Commons
A letter writing campaign responding to anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation will be held in the Commons June 13-14. Scripts, mailing materials, and coloring pages for young children will be available. Questions? Contact Rachel Becker-Warner at [email protected].

It was “moving day” as a group of Nativity staff and member helpers rolled up their sleeves to get the office space cleared out. 💪 Construction begins in the offices and upstairs kitchen space this coming Monday. Thank you to everyone who supported the efforts this morning and those who will continue packing up this weekend! 🙏🏻

Summer Construction Update + Voicemail System Down

OUR VOICEMAIL SYSTEM
Nativity's voicemail system is down and in need of replacement. We can still receive calls, but we do not have access to messages. We are working on a solution and apologize for the inconvenience.

SUMMER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction for Nativity’s Building Belonging renovations will begin June 15 with work in the offices and upstairs kitchen. This project will include the addition of a bathroom close to the sanctuary and will run through the end of August. During these weeks, the hospitality kitchen will be unusable.

The sanctuary space won't see construction until the end of July, and that process will also likely run through the end of August. Additional Commons construction during August will include replacing carpeting, painting walls, and installing the new Welcome Desk. Downstairs windows will be installed during August as well.

A NOTE ABOUT PARKING
Throughout the summer, there will be a dumpster and storage container parked in Nativity's Silver Lake Road lot. While some parking will continue to be available in that lot, we encourage those who are able to use the additional parking in our north and west lots as well as the Community Center lot across the street.

Highlights & gratitudes from last week's Jam for Gender Justice!
(Check out dozens of additional photos from the event, care of Nativity's Hayden Grooms, at the Nativity link in the comments.)

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening! On Wednesday, June 3, well over 500 people from Nativity and the greater community came together to enjoy amazing music along with great food and creative vendors. Freewill donations went to the Gender Justice organization whose mission is to dismantle the legal, political, and structural barriers to gender equity. To learn more about Gender Justice's work, go to Gender Justice - Advancing Gender Equity Through the Law (Look for their link in the comments.)

We're immensely grateful to the performers and vendors for sharing their incredible talents and to the wonderful staff of Silverwood Park, who offered tremendous hospitality. Thank you also to the staff on site from Sequeerity, who helped ensure a safe and fun night for everyone. This greater community event was hosted by Silverwood Park with support from Nativity’s Pride Outreach Team.

Thank you to the fantastic performers!

Thank you, Bishop Jen and Pastor Jen Collins, Assistant to the Bishop, for being with us for a celebratory weekend of transition! We are grateful for Pastor Glenn's 45 years with Nativity and look forward to a new chapter ahead with Pastor Angela LaMoore stepping into the lead pastor role.
