Wolves in the Pews: The Counterfeit Believer
​We stand at a volatile crossroad:
a season of profound awakening shadowed by predatory spiritual warfare. The apostles sounded the alarm across twenty-six New Testament books, warning of ravenous wolves prowling in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15). Today, they sit in our congregations. Masked as hungry seekers, their true appetite is dominance, prestige, and control—channelling the spirit of Simon the Sorcerer, who sought to buy divine power to elevate himself rather than bow to Christ (Acts 8:18–20).
​Their speech is polished rhetoric and hollow word salad, but their private lives lack the discipline of truth. Discernment exposes them immediately. Driven by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16), they recycle ancient Gnostic arrogance, craving secret knowledge to rule over God’s flock rather than serve it.
​Stop casting pearls before swine (Matthew 7:6). Scripture offers a zero-tolerance defense: mark them, expose them, and cut off their footholds (Romans 16:17; Ephesians 5:11). Guard the flock fiercely so true seekers find genuine light, grace, and redemption.
