Reach Out and Touch Prison Ministry Prison Ministry The Reach Out and Touch Prison Ministry (ROPTM) Rev Lula Ward-Brewer, Founder.

ROTPM was established by God on July 16, 1995 and is an Outreach Ministry that participates in the NYC Dept of Correction (DOC) Volunteer Services at Rikers Island. We have been blessed to provide ministerial and mentoring services in 6 out of the 9 facilities at Rikers Island, 1 facility in Brooklyn, 2 facilities in Africa and currently 2 facilities at Nassau County Correctional. We are writing a

n on-going Bible Study Correspondent Series of which nearly 1,200 men and women have enrolled. Several of our formerly incarcerated “Students/Mentees” are consistently and actively involved in our weekly men and women Bible Study Services, 12Noon Intercessory Prayer and 3rd Sunday Worship Service. One of our former students
has returned to Guyana and God is now using him as a Member of our Team to reach out and feed the homeless 3 days a week, and provide t-shirts and sandals for them, funded by ROTPM. Plans are also in progress to provide services at Taconic Women’s Prison in Westchester County. In addition, ROTPM provides Bibles, Christian literature, and referrals for re-entry services to the incarcerated upon their release.

(11/09/24) Last month ROTPM received calls from two churches seeking help and guidance on how to start a prison ministry. Was delighted to hold three “coaching” Zoom meetings with them.
