We have to stop masquerading and really call it for what it is.. Because
One of the greatest threats to the modern church is not the darkness outside the walls—it’s the unhealed hearts standing on the platforms inside them.
We have become impressed with gifting while God is looking for character. We celebrate charisma while ignoring consecration. We have learned how to build platforms, but many have neglected the altar.
The Bible never teaches that gifting is evidence of intimacy with God. In fact, Jesus warned:
“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? … and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you.” (Matthew 7:22-23)
It is possible to minister publicly while being distant from God privately.
Too many ministers are carrying microphones when they should be carrying their wounds to the Healer.
Too many are leading others into encounters they themselves are no longer having.
We have people casting vision while lacking brokenness, building ministries while neglecting their own souls.
The church is crying out for revival in the pews, but God is looking at the platforms.
Before fire falls in the altar, purification must come to the priesthood.
Malachi 3:3 says:
“And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi…”
Notice that God begins with the priests.
We want Acts 2 power, but we often ignore Acts 1 obedience. We want the crowds, but not the upper room. We want the influence, but not the surrender. We want the glory, but not the crushing that produces it.
A stage can hide a lot of things:
* Pride can preach.
* Bitterness can sing.
* Jealousy can prophesy.
* Insecurity can lead worship.
* Unforgiveness can hold a microphone.
But eventually God exposes what man celebrates.
The answer is not canceling people. The answer is repentance. The answer is healing. The answer is ministers returning to prayer closets, altars, humility, and the fear of the Lord.
David understood this when he cried:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)
The greatest evidence of revival is not a packed altar, a loud service, or an emotional moment. The greatest evidence of revival is transformed lives and transformed leaders.
If the platform remains sick, eventually the congregation becomes sick.
If the shepherd remains wounded, eventually the sheep will bleed.
We don’t just need revival in the pews. We need repentance on the platforms. We need purification in the pulpits. We need brokenness in the green rooms.
We need shepherds who love His presence more than their position.
I can say The Church Of God of the Apostolic Faith International Ministerial Assoc has many who are not that we are perfect.
But Because revival will never be sustained by gifted people—it will only be sustained by holy people.
“Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)
Office of the Bishop will be teaching in the next few weeks on these issues.
