Happy blessed Sunday! Hope you had a great week.

Today I would like to talk about John 10:9-10.
Jesus said in Vs 9 “ I am the door and anyone who enters in through Me will be saved.”
He goes and states that the thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. But I have come that you may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance to the full till it overflows. He said, I am the good Shepherd. I love you. I have a plan and a purpose for your life. But he also gave us a warning that there is a thief who will try to steal from us what is rightfully ours.
So I thought about that. What does the thief, the enemy of our souls try to steal from us?
First, I believe he tries to take our PEACE, he tries to replace our confidence in our heavenly father with fear and anxiety about the future.
Then, if he can steal that, his next goal is to kill our HOPE, then he has access to our dreams, our future, our health etc..
If he gets that far, then he goes in for the final goal, and that is to DESTROY our faith in our heavenly father and in trusting Him in good times and in bad times.
His ultimate goal is to bring devastation to our relationship with God, and when he accomplishes that it affects every facet of our life. We no longer walk in faith but fear and dread begins to rule.
It is a daily battle to keep our faith, joy and hope. There is a real thief who will take it from us if we allow him to.
There’s an old song we used to sing in church many many years ago, it goes like this,
🎼Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in HIS wonderful face, then the things on earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and Grace. 🎼
I don’t know if you could imagine me singing that ☺️but it’s one of my favorite songs!
After 47 years of walking with Jesus, the one thing I’ve learned the most is that no matter what I face I must keep my eyes on Him. He leads and I follow. THE WORD OF GOD WILL NEVER LEAD YOU WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD CANNOT KEEP YOU.
He loves you so very much.

Today’s scripture talks about Jesus hugging the children! I read that same scripture not too long ago in another gospel and it’s made me think once again about how we all have this inner child in us that still needs the hugs at times! When we feel loneliness, fear or disappointment, or even when we’ve done something that we’re feeling really great about, it’s always wonderful to get a hug! People have said that God uses me to give Jesus hugs. When I think about that statement, I think about how he has showed me to love and see people through his eyes. So not only am I loving them, but I’m feeling God’s love for them as well. We all need human hugs and we all need Jesus hugs. The definition of a Jesus hug is: acceptance, comfort, honor, compassion, mercy, and the spectacular revelation that we don’t have to earn his love. Hugs express the fact that you are not alone and that you are valued and safe in his arms no matter what you’re facing. The definition of a biblical hug is, “The Father’s LOVE with arms.” So cool!
The invisible love of God can sometimes become visible through the loving embrace of his children toward one another! There are many people who live alone who surprisingly do not get very many hugs if any at all!
There are times we all need that special hug and then there are times that we sense someone else needs that special hug! We Need to be reminded at times that there are two types of love. There’s human love and then there’s God love. His love is not like human love! It is not conditional! When we look at the cross, we realize the price he paid to show us how much he loves us! My prayer for you today is that you take one minute, just one minute and close your eyes and wait on the Lord, wait on him until you feel his presence and his loving arms embrace you! You know each Sunday as I pray for this special word to give you, I know that it is to encourage you for this day but also that you hang onto it from this day forward. If we constantly just crave human love and approval, we will never experience his love and hugs to the maximum that we could.
Consider yourself hugged today and make sure you hug someone else! You may never know what it will mean to them!

Happy blessed Sunday!!
The word that came to me today was 2 Chron. 20:15 that says, “The battle is not yours, It is the Lord‘s.”
Being servants of God and doing what we do for the kingdom surely has its up and down moments. For example, I am praying and rejoicing for a couple who just recently had a precious baby. And then in the same day, I’m dealing with a person who has been given a negative report from a doctor. With one I am rejoicing with the other I have empathy and can feel their pain. Life is like that for all of us. In this life there are such great moments of rejoicing and also great moments of sorrow.
I comfort myself always in scripture and Romans 8:28 has always been my stable because it says, “All things work together for the good to those who love the Lord.” And in 2 Chronicles 20:15 it states again that the battle is not ours, It’s HIS if we belong to him. He promises that he is actively working in our lives, on the great happy days and on the days of sorrow or struggle.
None of us know what tomorrow will hold. But one thing for sure is we know who holds tomorrow. Jesus is already there. He already knows what the future holds. For some the future can be scary. But knowing that he is already there before us can give us great peace! He didn’t say that we wouldn’t have struggles in this life, but what He did say, in John 14:1 was, “Do not let your hearts be troubled, trust in me!” In counseling over the years with so many people dealing with dread or fear of the unknown, one thing I do is to give my clients a rubber band to wear on their wrist. And every time they have a negative thought or fear trying to overtake their mind I tell them to snap the rubber band and take control of their thoughts and line them back up with His Word and with the fact that God our Father has got them in the palm of HIS hands. We don’t look at the circumstances we look in the eyes of Jesus. In great Days of rejoicing, he is there and days of bad reports, struggles and sorrows, He is there. The key is to look for him, to close our eyes and wait till we feel His powerful presence. He is ALWAYS there. Whether you are rejoicing today or dealing with a struggle I pray his presence comforts you in a mighty way! He loves you so much and so do I!! Have a wonderful day! 🙏🏻❤️

He said, Hearken, all Judah, you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Happy blessed Sunday!
As I was praying this morning, I could hear the word “Hero” in my spirit and I had this thought: imagine being on a plane that had to make a crash landing but survived it. As people scramble to get off the downed plane with the smoke swirling, you hear a voice in the back of the plane crying for help, but everyone else ignores it as they head toward the exit as fast as they can. The question that came into my mind was this: would you turn around and go back and risk your life to help the one that was trapped?

And then, of course, my thoughts turned to Jesus.

The definition of a hero is someone who courageously sacrifices for the good of others, who rescues those in danger and overcomes the danger to bring hope, freedom and victory. Jesus fulfills that definition perfectly because He did not simply rescue us from danger, but He rescued us from sin, death, and Satan through His death and resurrection. The book of Hebrews chapter 2, verses 14 and 15 teaches that through His death, Jesus destroyed the power of death and the devil and freed those who had lived in the fear of death all the days of their life.

“Jesus is our HERO!”

Every heart is searching for Him whether they know it or not. Every great story has a hero who arrives just when hope seems lost. The Bible is the greatest rescue story ever told and Jesus is the Hero. Unlike earthly heroes, His victory is eternal. His love is unconditional!! Earthly heroes may inspire us, but it’s only Jesus that transforms us. Not only does he bring peace in the life that we now live, but He also purchased us with His blood and gave us the promise of eternity, that we may reign with Him and our Heavenly Father forever and ever. Amen.

I began with this question: if you heard someone crying and no one was helping them, would you? But now this question arises: what if YOU were the person in the back of the plane filled with smoke and couldn’t get free? Would you be praying for a hero to come and rescue you??
Well, Jesus has heard our cry, He is standing beside you right now. 🔥
There are so many people in this world today who are overcome with fear, dread, shame, hopelessness, and despair. Jesus IS the hero and we are the vessels! He wants to use us to touch the hurting and to give them hope, to lead them to Him!
We all need Him so desperately every day. We need His hugs and there is nothing like a Jesus hug, is there?
I pray you feel that hug right now.

Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of death—that is, the devil— And also that He might deliver and completely set free all those who through the [haunting] fear of death were held in bo***ge throughout the whole course of their lives.

I woke up this morning and was delighted to see the air quality was better today. The smoke has been something I can’t remember dealing with over my life. These wildfires in Canada and the toxic smell that Michigan is having to deal with is a bit overwhelming. It has spoiled many vacations this last week or so. People are trapped inside, and while I was a little bit upset about that, I felt the Holy Spirit speak to me and say that my heart should be more focused on the people in Canada and how much they need our prayers. We’re getting the smoke, but they are dealing with the fire. 🔥
I went to the scriptures looking for direction, and I found this passage that talks about the fire of God working within our hearts. Scripture talks a lot about the fire of God. It talks about the refining fire that separates the dross from the gold and makes the gold pure. I think the greatest battle I fight with every day is to not be selfish, to not think about what suits me and it’s a battle with the flesh and I think everyone deals with the same thing. It is so easy to become self centered isn’t it? But the key is that the fire of God, the precious Holy Spirit reveals the selfishness in our hearts because selfishness really does not bring us joy, being a giver is where the true joy prevails!
Scripture says that we are to stir up the fire within us. It keeps us from being stagnant, selfish, and unhappy.
I pray you joined me today in a special prayer for Canada and all these people who have lost their homes, the firefighters who have to breathe this toxic smoke, those that risk their lives for others, pray with me and agree for rain for Canada. The Lord answers our prayers there’s no doubt in my mind about that. There’s so much power in unified prayer. So thank you heavenly father for bringing rain where it is needed. Thank you for sending Your fire in our hearts that revives and refreshes us and keeps us on the right track. We are so grateful to call you our Father.
Praying you have a wonderful day filled with His presence, you’re always in my thoughts and prayers!

That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [[a]with those of the elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

Happy blessed Sunday!
Today the scripture that came to my mind was Isaiah 49:1 and it touched me first and now I want to bless you with this prayer for your heart!

Thank you, heavenly father that you hear us whenever we pray. I pray you open the eyes of our hearts to know you more deeply, and to let us experience your presence, your truth, and power in our daily lives. Thank you for strengthening our faith and for the needed wisdom to navigate our journey every day. You are a loving father, who named us in our mother’s womb before we were ever born as the scripture declares in Isaiah 49:1. Help us to draw closer to you, and fill us with your Holy Spirit and replace all fear and anxiety with your peace. Let your peace replace every obstacle, every lie and the wonderful power of your love to cast out all unbelief that the enemy tries to bring every day. Thank you, Father that you’ve heard this prayer, I trust you to accomplish far more than I could ever imagine because you love us more than I we could ever imagine. Amen.

Listen to me, O isles and coastlands, and hearken, you peoples from afar. The Lord has called me from the womb; from the body of my mother He has named my name.
