Today, we celebrate Veterans Day in honor of all the brave men and women who have served and protected our nation. We pause to say thank you — your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment have made our freedom possible.

On behalf of Christ Communion Church and our entire congregation, we salute you with deep gratitude and honor. May God continue to bless and keep each of you who have worn the uniform with pride.

The Rev. Chet Atkins is the Bishop at Gideon Christ Community Church in Saginaw.
He is known for his community involvement, which includes organizing warming centers and water donations during the Flint water crisis.
Atkins was named "Saginawian of the Year" in 2016 for his work in transforming his life from a former gang member into a community mentor.
He also ran for the Saginaw County Board of Commissioners in 2024.
