Today marks the 25th Anniversary of 9/11.

Today we pray for all those who lost their lives, their families, and our communities. We thank our first responders who keep our communities safe, and call on our world leaders to work for peace. May we remember the importance of continually working for unity, justice, and an end to all hatred in all of our communities. 💙

Happy Labor Day from all of us at the Catholic Community Foundation!

Catholic Social Teaching reminds us that work is just. We are all called to use our gifts for the good of all. This Labor Day, we celebrate all workers who make our communities better places and promote the importance of fair labor, wages, and hours, so that our work enhances our lives!

Today, we ask to be made "faithful stewards of your creation to enhance the human dignity of our global family." (From Being Neighbor: The Catechism and Social Justice, USCCB, April 1998)

The International Day of Charity calls on individuals and organizations worldwide to work together to solve crises in aid, poverty, development, and climate. It's a call to action! And, as Catholics, it's a reminder of how our faith calls us to serve and care for one another.

It's already September! This month is dedicated to the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

The Seven Sorrows are intense moments of pain and suffering that Mary experienced. Today, they remind us that the Blessed Mother understands our suffering--and that we're never alone in our struggles.

Recognizing our Catholic faith in each other, especially in difficult times, is part of the Foundation's mission to generously support the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw.

St. Augustine's life is one of conversion--continually finding the will to live his life in a morally just way. St. Louis is recognized historically both as a king and as a Catholic saint--making him an example of devout Catholic leader. ✝

As the Foundation strives to generously support the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Diocese of Saginaw, we're called to lead with our faith. Stewarding endowed funds that support our parishes, schools, and ministries is how we're building the next generation of Catholic leaders.
