Matters of the Heart-Pieces of Me-

Matters of the Heart-Pieces of Me- We as women all have one thing in common: We've been hurt.. Now it's time to heal..

Sis… what’s in your purse?
Lotion.
Gum.
Tylenol.
Candy.
Because women stay ready. Prepared for dry hands, headaches, bad days, and sudden hunger…
Whatever the day brings…we’ve got something for it.
But let me ask you this…
What’s in your spiritual purse?
What do you reach for when your thoughts start spiraling?
When you feel forsaken, misunderstood, or unseen?
Sis, stock your spiral purse with this:
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” — Psalm 34:18
“You are the God who sees me.” — Genesis 16:13
“Do not be anxious about anything…” — Philippians 4:6–7
“Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.” — Psalm 55:22
Even when you feel forgotten…you are seen.
Even when others get it wrong…God knows the truth.
Even when the day catches you off guard…He is still God.
Sis, check your purse.
What are you carrying for the moments you didn’t plan for?

Meka’s Moment with the Master

There are times when life gets so busy, so heavy, so loud… that the only time anxiety finds space to speak is when the world finally gets quiet.
And in those moments, instead of feeling peace, the quiet feels loud.
But as I sat with the Lord today, He reminded me of something gentle and true:
Sometimes we allow life to infiltrate our moments with the Master.
We let the stress, the bills, the relationships, the disappointments, the conversations replaying in our minds, all of it, sneak into the space that was meant for Him.
We become consumed with everything that’s wrong, everything that’s uncertain, everything that didn’t go how we hoped.
And without even realizing it,
we give God a passing prayer…
but we don’t pause long enough to focus on all that the Master can make right.
No wonder anxiety kicks in.
Our hearts reach for peace,
but our minds are still tangled in everything we’re trying to carry.
Yet God, in His mercy, whispers the same words He spoke long ago:
“Be still.” (Psalm 46:10 really the entire chapter will bless you!)
Not…Be strong!
Not…Figure it out!
Not…Get over it!
Just…
BE STILL!!
Because He knows that stillness creates space for His presence to settle our spirits. Stillness reminds us that He is God, not us. Stillness shifts our focus from the problem to the One who can solve it.

Day 5: Meka’s Moment with the Master
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is sit in the moment and let Him speak. No extra words. No overthinking. No trying to figure everything out. Just allowing His presence to rest on you like a blanket you didn’t even realize you needed.
This morning reminded me of that.
Last night, the fog in the city was so thick you couldn’t see a mile ahead. Everything looked clouded, uncertain, and you couldn’t see a mile in front of you. But while you slept, something shifted. The fog didn’t disappear completely, but it lifted just enough to see the road ahead. And you didn’t have to do anything but rest.
That’s how God moves sometimes.
Not all at once… but little by little, the fog lifts.
Little by little, clarity comes.
Little by little, He shows you that He has been working in the unseen places…while you were resting, while you were sleeping, while you were simply trusting Him with what you could not control.
So today, let the fog speak to you.
Let it remind you that even if everything isn’t clear yet, God is clearing the path as you rest in Him.
Breathe. Be still. Let His presence settle on you.
Watch the fog lift.

Day 4: Meka’s Moment with the Master
Sometimes it feels like just when you’re making progress, something hits you that knocks you back several steps. You get frustrated and angry all over again! You honestly thought you had moved past certain things… but life has a way of showing you what still needs healing. I don’t like that space or feeling. So I had a moment and then I let God sit in that moment with me…
I remembered a moment when we were building our son’s bed. We had made a mistake and screwed the wrong side of the steps. And had we kept going, the foundation of that bed would’ve been all wrong. We would’ve built something that couldn’t hold and couldn’t stand. So we had to go back several steps… not to start over, but to fix the foundation.
That memory hit me in my spirit.
Sometimes the step back is actually for your benefit.
Sometimes God lets you revisit a place you thought you were done with, not to punish you, but to make sure what you’re building is sustainable.
Yes, it’s frustrating.
Yes, it can feel discouraging or embarrassing.
But please shift the perspective:
You’re not starting over.
You’re not failing.
You’re not losing ground.
You’re building correctly.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” – Psalm 127:1
And anything worth standing on… anything worth building a life, a marriage, or a future on… requires a foundation that’s strong, healed, and whole.
Keep going.
Keep trusting.
Keep rebuilding…..the right way!

Day 3: Meka’s Moment With the Master
Today my heart is on marriage, not the picture-perfect kind we post, but the real, growing, stretching, healing kind that takes two people and a faithful God to hold it together.
What I’m learning is this:
Love isn’t proven on the easy days.
It’s proven when two imperfect people keep choosing each other anyway… choosing honesty, choosing grace, choosing to show up even when feelings get complicated.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 reminds us that “a cord of three strands is not easily broken.”
And Lord knows… some of us have had moments where that cord felt thin.
But when God is the third strand strength rises where weakness tried to take over.
If you’re married, engaged, dating with intention, or praying for restoration—be encouraged.
You and your partner are not enemies.
You are teammates.
You are not fighting each other… you’re fighting for each other.
And God is fighting for both of you.
So today, don’t aim to be perfect aim to be present.
Aim to be patient.
Aim to love a little softer, listen a little longer, and forgive a little quicker.
Small steps strengthen big covenants.
This is my prayer for us all:
Lord, bind our relationships with Your love. Heal what hurts, guard what is sacred, and make us partners who reflect Your grace.
Keep going, couples. God’s got you.

Day 2: Meka’s Moment with the Master: Here’s the charge… to love them anyway.
To love them the way you’d want to be loved.
To extend grace, not to excuse what they did, but to protect your peace.
Yes, I know what they did.
I know how they hurt you.
I know the version of you that still wants to stay angry, hold the grudge, and replay the hurt over and over again.
Trust me… I feel that too.
And you know what? This one made me emotional and upset because I’m being asked to do something I truly don’t want to do.
The flesh wants to sit in the pain.
The mind wants to replay the scenes.
Part of me feels safer being upset than being open.
But I remember this: we’re commanded to love anyway.
Because somebody loved me when I was unlovable…
When I did some unloving things…
When grace covered me even when I didn’t deserve it.
So I choose differently…intentionally.
Not because it’s easy.
Not because it feels natural.
But because this healed, rising, maturing version of me deserves to be set free.
Free from bitterness.
Free from the loop of old hurts.
Free from the parts of me that want to stay stuck.
So yep!! LOVE ANYWAY!!
Not for them…
But for your freedom, your peace, and your healing.
