On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Rev. Bobbie Jones, the pastor of Hope Church, gave the sermon. The theme was “Sent.” Mwah Polson read the scriptures Matthew 9:35-10:8, 9:9-23. Rev. Jones pointed out that, after Jesus’ resurrection, the disciples had been told to stay in Jerusalem and wait. Jesus had said, “The harvest is plenty, the workers are few,” (Matthew 935-38). Rev. Jones said that, “As the disciples prayed [they realized] that they are the answer for their own prayers. We are the workers that God is preparing to build his kingdom in this age. After the service, we all went into the dining room to enjoy an appetizing sausage biscuit bake, donated by Delilah’s family. The congregation then returned to the sanctuary for the church meeting with Rev. Jones. The meeting is included on this page.

Rev. Bobby Jones and the Hope members and friends gathered for a meeting on, Sunday, June 15, 2026, after the church service. Rev. Jones invited us to talk about our vision for Hope Church. What changes or improvements do we want to see for our church? We were told to get away from “what we used to do,” and reconsider, “what we want to see happen in the future.” The kids were invited into the meeting. They were asked what changes they would like to see in the church.

We had a great time praying, reading scriptures, and discussing our duties as Christians. We are to "be active in the blessings" God sends. Rev. Jones told us that as we serve God, we are to empower or mentor someone to replace us. In other words, we must enable the next generation. So that they can continue working as the hands and feet of God.

Sunday, June 7, 2026, was Communion Sunday. Rev. Bobby Jones gave the sermon. The theme was “To Be a Blessing.” The Bible passages read were Genesis 12:1-9 and Matthew 9:9-13 and 18-26. We had experienced a special blessing. Rev. Jones called all of the children to come up and stand with one of the Communion stewards, “and watch how it is done.” After the congregation was served, the kids were told to kneel, and they were served along with the Communion Stewards. One young man left soon after he drank the juice; he didn’t wait for Rev. Jones to dismiss him. When asked why he was leaving so soon, he said, “I already did it.” We were all blessed to see the little ones trained to participate in the celebration of Christ’s Last Supper. After the benediction, all of us socialized in the dining room. Delilah and her family finished filling Blessing Bags for the Mission Committee. In the Sunday School class Jesenya, taught the little ones how to be of service. Carol Kremer’s Adult Sunday school also met. Enjoy the pictures here, but find the service on this page, watch it, and be fulfilled. Find out how we are "conduits of Christ's love."

The Hope United Women of Faith (UWF) had their last meeting before their summer break. There were lots of reports on recent UWF activities across the country. Delilah attended the UWF National Assembly in Indianapolis, Indiana, on May 15-17. She reported on the training sessions she attended on “Prayer Boards.” She said that Sally Vonner, the CIO of UWF, spoke at the Assembly, along with many others. Fran and Linda attended the Spiritual Growth gathering in Napa last April. Lorraine, Delilah, Simone, and Fran attended the Mission U training session in Reno on May 29 -30. The theme was “Emanual With Us.” Delilah, a Youth Coordinator for Mission U, explained the organization’s goals. She informed us about the upcoming Mission U activities. Fran reported on a story about “the woman at the well (John 4:1-43), and how that story illustrates 'Experiencing Emanual through a Transforming Community Change.” Maxine Northern gave us a story from the UWF calendar. Star Ghoston and Simone Brown gave us a much-appreciated talk on “Soul Care.” They passed out a questionnaire that included the question, “How do you care for your soul?” Much discussion followed.
