Sunday, August 30, 2026, was Youth Sunday at Hope Church. Grace Soria, the Youth Leader, and the young people, kids, and adult leaders put together a fascinating service. Grace and the youth marched to the altar wearing unique T-shirts that they had designed in their youth meetings. All the youth sat in the choir loft and treated us to some great music. Simone Brown, Hope’s Education Chair, presented promotion certificates to everyone from pre-kindergarten to master's degrees. The scriptures and the weekly announcements were presented as videos. Grace Soria gave a very memorable sermon. The Bible verses were: Romans 8:26 -28, Jeremiah 29:11, and Psalm 140:1-18. Enjoy the pictures here, but find the service on this page, watch it, and be spiritually refreshed by our youth and kids.

We decided to do an extra special luncheon for our neighbors. 80 sandwiches were made. Turkey and Ham served along with a bag of chips, a fruit cup, a stick of cheese, cookie and water.
Our group has dwindled down to four in the group but still dedicated to make a difference on this corner. Everyone was so grateful. We asked them to come at 11:00. Some did come a bit early but we were able to accommodate everyone and we feel blessed to be able to do this.
Louise, Denise, Edith and I, have it covered. We felt the love as we handed out the bags. 🙏🏾🤗
Praise be to God for his mercy and blessings to us all.💕

The United Women of Faith had a memorable pool party on Monday, August 24, 2026. Trish Feltus hosted the party, and Lorraine Dobbins, the UWF President, hosted the Bible quiz contest, and she held a small business meeting. We had many guests: our kids and grandkids, other family members, and our honored guest, Bishop Warren Brown. Also, the food was unforgettable! Dessert was Joan Brown's "Million Dollar Cake."

Thinking back on one of our favorite fundraisers! Church members near and far showed up and showed out by volunteering, visiting, and supporting our annual firework stand. Thank you all for your love and dedication to our beloved church.

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of Hope Church, had to attend a family funeral. Rev. Jones instructed Grace Soria, the Youth Leader, to have the congregation get into small groups to answer the question, “Who do you say Jesus is?” (read Matthew 16:13-20.) The congregation quickly got into their groups, and began discussing the question. When their time was up, each group shared some ideas from their discussion. We heard feedback even from our new members. After the small groups went back to their seats, Grace challenged us; she said, “If Jesus is your Saviour, worship him. If Jesus is your king, surrender to him…who is Jesus to you?” We thank God for bringing Grace to challenge us. She gave an inspiring service. The members of the congregation stopped to congratulate Grace. Then everyone went into the dining room to socialize and enjoy homemade cookies, coffee, and juice. Enjoy the pictures you see here, but find the service on this page, watch it, and be renewed.
