In the parable of the sower the seed represents the Gospel. In the parable of the wheat the seed represents the Believer!

I believe Jesus intentionally made this distinction for us to understand the goal of the Gospel in you and I! You’re not just someone who heard God’s Word - you ARE God’s Word in action. At work, school, or anywhere you go, people are reading the gospel story through your life. No physical Bible required when you’re living as the seed of God’s truth!

“The devil used to be the worship leader in Heaven!”

I can remember saying/thinking it was true because it was something I’ve heard in church over the years. We’ve said it with so much confidence that I just knew there was a verse that clearly states that! Chile. Where? 😭 The verse that people might point to is in Ezekiel 28:13 NKJV. I’ll add the scripture to this thread. It essentially says that Satan’s ‘workmanship’ of timbrels (tambourines) and pipes was created for him which results in associating him with music.

However, this is a prophetic book which means we have to read it from a prophetic POV. This means there are metaphors, hyperboles, imagery etc. all within the text. This verse isn’t clear enough for us to make such a bold statement. We have to understand that the enemy is the father of lies and rejoices when we believe a lie—especially about him! He’s like oh you think I was a worship leader in Heaven? Say less, that means that you don’t even know what I’m really about! The devil loves the ignorant Christian!

Now I don’t want you to hear what I’m not saying. The devil ABSOLUTELY influences our music and media. There is no doubt about that. But the beauty of the Gospel is that through Jesus Christ we get to bring KINGDOM back into our culture. That should be our focus and fire—to truly bring Heaven on earth!

I’m on a journey of DEEP reading the Bible and it’s changing my life! I’m learning that true deconstruction actually leads us closer to Christ not further away.

If you consistently have to focus on hell to keep yourself from sinning something is wrong. If all you talk about is the demonic as a Believer something is wrong. The driving force behind your life as a Christian can’t be fear—it must be the reality of the word of God, the finished work of Jesus and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Clear your schedule on Sunday and fully make it a day to be with the saints, rest and get spiritually filled up for the week. If it’s a choice between brunch and hearing the message for that week I pray we choose the latter. We have to keep our tolerance for the Word of God high. When we keep prioritizing things above that for the sake of the other things we have on our schedule we won’t see much transformation in our lives. If we can’t give God one solid day what makes us think we’re putting in enough of Him to change our life? You have 1 hour of life giving activity battling with 23 hours of carnality. Let’s be for real about this life.
