Mat 9:37 “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

The word laborers is ergatēs which means a toiler; figuratively a teacher. With thousands upon thousands of churches in our midst only a small percentage of them are actually teaching people. This is why you come across Believers who have been in church for 20+ years yet are biblically illiterate. Even examining the Great Comission in Matthew 28 shows that the expectation was to make DISCIPLES not just convert someone to the faith and leave it at that. When we do this we are left with Believers who have so many unanswered questions that they “leave the faith”. So, people of God, “Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

It is impossible to drown in defeat or hopelessness as a a recipient of the life of Christ. If you feel that way it’s time to do a beholding test! What have you been looking, listening and paying attention to? Is it truth that reflects the Gospel or something else? Asses and fix your gaze! Be encouraged!

I don’t know about you but I’m grateful that God is God all by Himself! This truth challenges me to acknowledge Him in all my ways and moments of life. He’s worth the undivided attention! Be encouraged!

The specific will of God for your life is sustained by you doing the general will of God.

When a believer is struggling to know the specific will of God for their life they have not been functioning in the general will of God.

God will make the specific will for your life so obvious that it will be impossible to miss. Typically, we aren’t satisfied with diligently doing the general will which is why there’s delay in getting to the specific.
