Q/A History of Royal Rangers: Rev. Johnnie Barnes founded this ministry in 1962. He passed in 1989. On his tombstone it reads founder of Royal Rangers. 1962—Royal Rangers started under the direction of Rev. Johnnie Barnes, district youth director from North Texas, as a ministry designed to disciple young men and keep them in our churches. He led it for 27 years. In 2014—Rev.
