Calvary Missionary Baptist Church East Campus was first called the Greater Light of Life Baptist Church. It was organized by Rev. Mitchell in March of 2004. For over eight years, Rev. Mitchell allowed the Lord to lead him in his work as Pastor of the Greater Light of Light ministry. Although the congregation was small, Pastor Mitchell, his wife, Sis Peggy Mitchell, and the members of Greater Light of Life made an impact within the community by witnessing to and praying for the area's less fortunate. On Saturday mornings, church members would serve food and hold church services for the homeless. Pastor Mitchell and the Greater Light of Life Baptist Church touched the community in so many ways. In mid-2012, after eight years, Pastor Mitchell was called to minister in another area. At that time, Dr. Bryant C. Wyatt became the Pastor of the Greater Light of Life Baptist Church, now called the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church East Campus. Pastor Wyatt and the East Campus family continue to serve the Lord through prayer and evangelism.
