We’re excited to share some BIG news!

Some wonderful community partners are stepping up to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Sac County, and donations are being matched up to $1,000!

We are so grateful for those who believe in the power of books and are helping us put more free books into the hands of local children.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 292 children in Sac County Iowa find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

While our hearts are incredibly sad today, we’re more inspired than ever to continue this important mission. Together, we are building a brighter future for our children.

Worship this Sunday at the South Shelter House (by the pool on 12th street). Worship will begin at 10am. Potluck picnic will follow after the worship service. Remember, a member of the church is bringing chicken for everyone. I even heard there will be ice cream! Bring a friend, a family member or a nieghbor.

Our final Dolly Days celebration took us to the Lytton Public Library today!
A big thank you to everyone who joined us over the past several weeks. We've shared stories, enjoyed plenty of ice cream and cookies, made balloon animals, colored pictures, and, most importantly, celebrated the joy of reading with children across Sac County.
Thank you to all of our libraries, volunteers, donors, and families for making this year's Dolly Days a wonderful success!
