Pastor Greg Laurie is on a mission to bring hope and healing to Utah Valley University, the campus in Orem, Utah, where conservative and Christian commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated Sept. 10.

Laurie, pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in California and founder of the Harvest Crusades — popular, large-scale evangelistic events — is planning a Nov. 16 event on the UVU campus.

“We have been talking with pastors in Utah about doing one of our Harvest Crusades,” he said. “We do them in stadiums, arenas, around the country, around the world, and I’ve been doing them for over 30 years — and so the folks, some of the pastors, came to us from Utah and said, ‘Would you come and do one here?'”

Initially, Laurie didn’t plan to do an event in Utah until 2027, but Kirk’s assassination at UVU changed everything. The Harvest team reached out and asked how they could help after the tragedy unfolded.

Rumors of Wars

Matthew 24:6–8 (KJV):

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

What This Means

1. Wars are expected in the last days
• Jesus warned His disciples that global conflict would increase.
• These are not the end itself but signs pointing toward the end.

2. Don’t be alarmed
• “See that ye be not troubled” → Believers should not live in fear.
• Wars are part of God’s prophetic plan and show His Word being fulfilled.

3. The beginning of sorrows
• Wars, disasters, and chaos are birth pains of a world groaning under sin (Romans 8:22).
• They intensify as we get closer to Christ’s return.

4. Hope for believers
• While the world fears, Christians have assurance: “God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:9).

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

We are hearing a lot about unity and peace lately. Yet we are seeing wars and rumors of wars, mass shootings, targeted shootings, every form of evil. Also, we are seeing destruction by means of weather related events and wildfires. There is so much hate and division/discord over everything even in our churches. There is a cultural divide that is causing people to consider family and friends enemies and reject/ annihilate them. We are seeing the death of 1 man creating "revival" in some and mockery in others. Thank the Lord if some are being saved or renewing their covenant with God. But I fear the emotions of many being stirred up and worshipping a fleshly man instead of Jesus. Please pray for discernment in all things. We are living in chaotic, turbulent times. We are facing demonic spirits trying to confuse and disarm us. It's hard to know what to believe these days. AI is full of deception and a huge tool in Satan's hands. I pray that everyone will stay in prayer and in the Bible and discern the spirits. We. are in the greatest spiritual battle of my lifetime. Stay safe in the arms of God.

There are some children, teens, and young adults that are respectful, disciplined, and very spiritual with a great love for God. But today's parents are often modeling disrespect, rebellion, lack of self-discipline, lack of faith or belief in God, etc. So many parents and teens/young adults of this generation are using drugs/alcohol, living with their partner without marriage, having s*x with everyone they date, having same-s*x relationships, etc. Society has accepted sinful life styles. Even some churches are condoning sin and watering down messages afraid of offending someone. Some people have never been to a church service or heard the gospel. We have allowed too much of the world into our homes and failed the younger generations. The culture says: There is no God, That's not for me. All the self- affirmations of today are hurting our children: (ex.) I can take care of myself, You do you, I am strong, I am beautiful, I can do/be anything, etc. The culture is causing young girls to believe they don't need anyone, especially a man and God. Our young boys aren't learning what it means to be a godly man. They are becoming more effeminate whiIe young girls are deciding a man is not important in their lives. I read an article awhile back that said young men are starting to have more estrogen than testosterone. I can't remember the causes for this. But Satan is after our youth. Satan uses peer pressure, entertainment, all the stuff online to entice our youth and adults to lead them astray. Satanism, witchcraft, use of crystals and other New Age practices are becoming really popular. Stay alert and informed.We are in end times. We need to pray the effectual, fervant prayers of the righteous. We need to speak up for the Lord and be a witness to the lost and the misled. The Bible says their blood will be on our hands.

Guard your tongue. Let everything you say be from God, spoken in love with Godly wisdom that is peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy not stirring up strife. Comments welcome. Keep them peaceable in line with this scripture.
