WHO SAYS IT IS IMMORAL

Over the past two years we have been hearing and reading what some consider to be moral or immoral. President Trump wants to built a wall across our southern border to keep our nation safe from drugs, crime, and illegal entrance into the country by many people from other countries. The Democrats are fighting to limit the wall or to do away with it altogether. The reason they are so against this barrier is they consider it to be "immoral." They contend that it is absolutely wrong to keep people from coming to this nation and from having a better life, regardless of who they might be. We know this is not the real reason they are against border security, but they are sticking to it in this political fight.
When I hear them talking about how immoral a border wall is I cringe at the ignorance they are displaying. As Isaiah warned his people, so must we clearly proclaim, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter" (Isa. 5:20).
Wrong is wrong not because someone decides it is wrong, but because God says it is wrong. God has set the standard or morality and it is given to us in His divine word. The Psalmist said, "For the word of the Lord is right" (Ps. 33:4). No man has the right, or the power, to change what God has already declared to be right or wrong. The Apostles had the keys to the Kingdom, but they could only speak what was already set in stone (Matt. 16:19). Paul said that he, or even an angel from heaven did not have the right to change or teach what they had received from the Holy Spirit (Gal. 1:8-9). Regardless of who they might be, Presidents, Democrats, Republicans, Preachers, or even the Pope, no one has the right or power to set laws of morality than what is already found in the Bible.
Border security is not immoral if the laws of the land are in light with Biblical truth (Rom. 13:1-4) (Acts 5:29). We are to love all people and help them in anyway we can, but we must take care of our own first of all (1 Tim. 5:8).
If people are so worried about the immoralities of this nation, lets consider some of the things that are causing the foundation of our country to crumble.
It is immoral to murder human beings (Gal. 5:21). May we stand against the laws that are giving women the right to murder their children simply because they can.
It is immoral to engage in same-sex relationships (Gal. 5:19) (Rom. 1:26-27). Homosexuality is not normal or just an alternative lifestyle. According to God it is a sin that must be repented of. Any sexual activity outside of marriage is sinful and must be stopped if one wishes to go to Heaven.
Drug abuse of any sort is immoral (Gal. 5:20-21).Multitudes are dying because of alcohol and drug addiction.
Much more could be said, but this is enough to get the picture, Let us follow the Word of God as the standard of morality and one day hear the Lord say, "Well Done,"

ARE WE DOING TOO MUCH?
John Taber

I was listening to the radio the other day when a doctor came on with information on how to be more efficient in our everyday lives. He said that multi-tasking is not good for us. When we try to do different things at one time, we are just turning off one thing in order to concentrate on another. According to the doctor, the best thing to do is to set our priority on one thing at a time and this will help us to be more productive in life.
I believe the doctor gave us some good advice. We are living in such a busy time that it is really hard to get anything accomplished. If you are like me, we wake up in the morning with a list of jobs that need our attention, and we go to bed wondering why we didn’t complete what we had planned for the day. So busy; at so much; that nothing gets done.
We wonder why some Christians lose their faith and fall away from God. The answer could very well be that Jesus Christ is not the number one priority of their lives. Making a living has become more demanding than the call of the gospel to “sell what we have and give it to the poor” (Matt. 19:21). “Keeping up the appearance” demands the time that we, at one time, spent in Bible study, prayer and worship (Luke 14:16-20). Making sure the children are happy and their days are filled with worldly activities keeps us from the Christian fellowship that will edify us and give us the strength to resist the devil (Eph. 6:10-18).
If you make a New Year resolution, let it be the priority of living your life daily for the Lord. The Apostle Paul’s assurance of salvation laid in the fact that his priority was to forget the past and to reach forth to glory land (Phil. 3:13). Jesus instructed us to “seek first the kingdom of God” trusting God for all things (Matt. 6:33). Mary was commended by the Lord for choosing to hear His teachings rather than to prepare a meal as Martha did (Lk. 10:38-42). Preparing a meal is good, but it must come second place when it’s time to listen to Jesus.
If salvation is to be ours, the way of the lord must be the top priority of all we do. If not, nothing else matter.
