Yesterday morning, following the 11:00 a.m. Mass, St. Peter's Parish held a special dedication ceremony for the flag and flagpole located in front of St. Peter's Rectory.

This tribute honored the memory of Larry Bolgioni, World War II veteran and former prisoner of war, as well as a devoted parishioner who donated the original flag and flagpole to the parish in 2005.

The marble monument and commemorative plaque marking this milestone were generously provided by A. Tedesco Masonry.

The ceremony included a blessing by Father Richard Crawley, OFM Cap., participation from the American Legion Post 31 Color Guard, and the raising of a new American flag donated by the Bolgioni family.

Last evening Saint Peter Parish was honored to welcome the Mount St. Joseph Academy community to St. Peter Church for the 139th Commencement of MSJ.

His Excellency, Bishop John McDermott awarded diplomas to the Graduating Class as well as golden diplomas to the Class of 1976.

It was also a joyful evening to welcome back to Convent Avenue, Msgr. Richard Lavalley, former principal of MSJ who offered words of congratulations to both the graduates and the alumni gathered.

Msgr. Lavalley began his priestly ministry as a curate at St. Peter Parish during the pastorate of Msgr. William Crowley. It was wonderful to welcome Monsignor home and to celebrate this joyous event in our historic parish church!
