I love this! 💕
I attended a conference yesterday. There was a panel of women speaking about Jesus and the power of community.
It was an Interfaith conference, and my daughter happened to be one of the presenters.
The moderator, a traditional Christian, asked Grace how her belief in Christ had been strengthened because of her community.
And then, in the way that Grace does, she expressed deep love and gratitude to the woman who was asking the questions. A woman who comes from a different faith background than she does.
Grace said, my understanding of Jesus is deeper because of you. Because my mom introduced me to you. In my teenage years, during a time of introspection and growth, you spoke of Christ and it left a deep impression on me.
And maybe we forget about the power of words. About standing as a witness of Christ even in simple conversations.
What if Christ is what we have in common even if the names of our churches are different?
And then Grace reminded us all of something important that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since yesterday.
The best parts of Him are in us.
All of us.
His goodness is everywhere.
That person walking down the street, sitting on the park bench, taking your order on the opposite side of the counter.
Some of the best parts of Him are in them.
Maybe we just need to pause.
Look harder.
Notice Him more often.
You never know if someone might have something to offer that you are especially in need of today.
Perhaps we need all of us to know all of Him.
