Rutherfordton Day Class

Rutherfordton Day Class Community Bible Study is an interdenominational Bible study for the community.

We offer a wide range of courses in classes throughout the United States and welcome people from all backgrounds and levels of Bible knowledge. Since 1975, Community Bible Study has been helping people-from children to seniors-to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus Christ. Today, there are nearly 700 CBS classes located throughout the United States as well as classes in more than 70 countries and more than 40 languages around the globe.

O Lord, our Lord,how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Our Heavenly Father, the ministry of Community Bible Study desires to Praise Your Name in all the earth! We come mindful that You have called us to join in Your work throughout the world. We pray that You would order our steps and prepare the work in advance for us that we might know Your way and walk faithfully in it. Give strength to servants who are weary, create enthusiasm and ignite inspiration for all of Your servants throughout the World. We pray for Your glory to be made known through all the generations who are joining us in classes throughout the world this year. To Your Praise and in the Name of Your Son we pray ~ amen.

Praise God for opening wide the New York Metro Zone door for the ability to gather, study, and fellowship in person together.

Praise God for the annual CBS leadership training held last month in the East Asia-Pacific Region. Please pray that the fruit of this encounter will result in many people studying the Word of God.

Please pray that the Lord will work in the hearts of those that He is calling into leadership in the Florida North Zone.

Please pray for the new CBS leaders who have joined the national team in Ukraine.

Please pray for the CBS Ministry in El Salvador as the participants are recognized for completing this year’s study. Pray that they will be encouraged to continue studying God’s Word.

Praise God for the nearly 20,000 children and adults who have joined CBS classes in Rwanda in the last five months. Please pray for the training of leaders to support these new classes.

Praise the Lord for lively participation and great insights being shared in the Teen Core Groups in the Northeast Texas and Northern Louisiana Zone.

Praise God for the encouragement that was experienced at the annual CBS conference in Switzerland. Please pray that additional classes will be established as a result.

Please pray for the CBS leader in Cambodia as they travel to visit leaders following a recent leadership training.

Please pray that God will meet the needs of North American NextGen leaders and teachers according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Please pray for the CBS leadership training next month to develop the first CBS class in a city in Ecuador. Pray that the participants will be enthusiastic as they learn the CBS methods.

Praise God for the growing CBS expat class in the East Asia-Pacific Region.

Praise God for the recent leadership training in the Sub-Saharan Africa Region. Please pray that classes will begin soon and for God’s provision to introduce the CBS Children & Youth program.

Praise God for an open door in the Middle East/North Africa Region. Please pray for an opportunity for the leaders to meet face-to-face next month.

Please pray for CBS participants in prisons and their families across the North American Region during the holiday season.

Please pray that the participants in the Oklahoma and Arkansas Zone will bear fruit in good works, increase in their knowledge of God, and be joyfully strengthened with power for endurance and patience.

Please pray for the Lord to encourage and empower individuals and existing classes to reach out to the next generations by establishing Core Groups, Remote Core Groups, and other opportunities to engage with these audiences across North America.

Please pray that the CBS class leaders in the North Carolina East Zone would clearly hear the voice of Jesus, following His call to serve with obedient and joyful hearts.

Please pray for unity, love and refreshing for Servants Teams and leaders in the Los Angeles and Hawaii Zone over the Christmas break.

Praise God for His compassionate grace to send His Son Jesus as our Savior. Please pray for all those in the New York Metro Zone desiring to know Jesus through His Word.

Praise God with the Southeast Texas and Southern Louisiana Zone for an amazing visit from the CBSI Sub-Saharan African Region Director and his powerful presentations about what God is doing in that part of the world.

Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and for the beautiful start to classes in the Orange Inland, California Zone.

Please pray that the church leaders of a major denomination in Vanuatu will see the benefits of using CBS methods and materials in their discipleship efforts.

Please pray that God will raise up His called leaders to serve the men’s InPrison Ministry in the South Carolina Zone.

Please pray for the effective integration of new CBS participants with various disabilities as they join classes in the Sub-Saharan Africa Region.

Please pray that people will join a CBS Online study in Spain and that it will birth a stand-alone class in their community.

Praise God for an Ambassador’s visit to the CBS family in Thailand. Please pray that the leaders and participants continue to be encouraged and inspired.

Praise God for His abundant provision of grace and blessing as growth in NextGen Student classes can be seen in the North Carolina East Zone.

Praise the Lord for the many helpers He has provided to assist the Children’s Teachers in Ontario, Canada.

Please pray for a new ministry in the Middle East/North Africa Region that is using CBS materials in their discipleship program.

Please pray for potential new Impact Groups in Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia.

Please pray that new Children & Youth leaders will serve the CBS participants in Malawi with enthusiasm and grace.

Please pray for the Executive Director of CBS according to John 15—that she would “bear fruit—fruit that will remain” (John 15:16 BSB).

Praise God for a church leader in Taiwan who attended an introductory session for CBS materials and methods. Please pray this encounter will open a door to reach more people through the study of God’s Word.

Praise God for children who have made decisions to follow Christ in the Northeast Texas and Northern Louisiana Zone.

Praise God for the advantages of technology. Please pray for the Lord to provide additional technology assistants in the Northeast Subregion.

Please ask God to raise up new class leaders from current participants who could help grow the ministry in Italy.

Please pray the Holy Spirit will guide NextGen participants into Truth and build them up in their most holy faith.

Please pray for CBS class leaders to remain committed to the ministry as they serve in Madagascar.

Please pray for God’s guidance for the North Florida Zone Servants Teams that are in search of new host churches.

Praise the Lord for the 2-year-old, 3-year-old, and 4-year-old children in the Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia Zone who are joyfully singing CBS songs and carrying His sweet aroma into their homes and to their extended families.

Praise God for the two CBS groups that began gathering recently in Greece.

Praise God for an encouraging visit from the Ambassador to the CBS family in Trinidad. Pray this time of fellowship brings a renewal of commitment and new vision.

Please pray for God’s provision financially and logistically to ensure healthy and growing classes in the Sub-Saharan Africa Region.

Please ask God to call and equip His chosen leader to serve the CBS participants in Samoa.

Please pray for discernment and unified Servants Teams throughout the Northeast Subregion in order to combat the rampant illnesses and allow participants to continue gathering in person.

GOD'S WORD IS NOT BOUND - Witch doctor healed when 5-year-old granddaughter prays for her.

My name is Josephine. I have been in the witch doctor business for 40 years in Malawi. I never knew anything about God and had no regard for God.

One night I fell terribly sick, and my 5-year-old granddaughter Priscilla asked me to raise my hand, so she could pray for me. I refused at first, but later on I allowed her to pray for me, because she started to cry. Priscilla shocked me that night as she recited Psalm 103:3, which says the Lord heals all our diseases. After 30 minutes I felt well and strong again.

I asked Priscilla where she learned this, and she told me that it was at the Children & Youth class, where she secretly goes with her friend and where she learned that God heals. I cried to God asking for forgiveness, and the next morning I went to Pastor MacDonald* to lead me to Christ, which he did. We went home, and I burned all my charms and released all the people who were under my spell.

I thought Priscilla was the one to take over from me as a witch doctor when I am dead as per "witchcraft tradition", but God’s plans were to save Priscilla and me from the yoke of Satan. I thank God for being a born-again Christian. I am 89 years old now, and I will die a happy old woman.
