Weekend of the CROSS takes place the last weekend in July each year. Youth from accross North Louisiana gather in Ruston, LA to worship and serve.

Weekend of the CROSS exists to connect youth to Christ through service, worship and community.

We’re excited to announce that Firm Foundation will be this year’s worship band for Weekend of the Cross!

This talented band was founded in 2015 with a group of middle school guys learning what it meant to serve the Lord on and off the stage. Over the years, God has guided some of them down different paths, and the band is now comprised of seven core members. As their musical abilities have grown, so has their desire to see the Lord glorified in and through their music.

We can’t wait to welcome back Firm Foundation!

Introducing our 2026 Weekend of the Cross speaker: Dr. Josh Mandrell!

Dr. Josh is the local dermatologist and owner of Bayou Dermatology in Ruston. Before launching his career in medicine, he served as a youth minister and youth camp and retreat speaker for several years in Illinois. Dr. Josh has a passion for making Scripture come to life and loves a good visual aid!

He is the proud husband to Abby and father to Caleb, Leah, and Sarah, as well as dad to three Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, Austie, Ellie, and Gumbo. After serving as our 2016 speaker, he’s excited to be back this year to encourage us to live out our faith out boldly.
