Covenant Presbyterian Church - PCA, Russellville, AR We are a congregation of the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America). Join us Sundays for our Worship Service at 10:30 am Welcome to our virtual doorstep!

We believe that the Bible, being God's inspired Word, is both necessary and sufficient for leading to salvation by grace, through faith. Join us on Sundays for Fellowship at 10 am and our Worship Service at 10:30 am! Most people who get this far into a church's social media page are doing their homework to see if this or that particular place will be what they believe church should be. Well, there

are plenty of churches out there that pride themselves on being whatever they have to be in order to make everyone as comfortable as possible; and if that's what you're looking for, we wish you the best. We are not that church. We are a close community of believers who treat one another like children of the same Father. That means we're like family, and family is often uncomfortable. It's super rewarding, but not always easy. Some might say that Covenant Presbyterian Church is NOT "Seeker Friendly," but that depends entirely on what someone seeks. We believe that we are to love as Christ loves us, and that we are to forgive as we have been forgiven. If you seek to be loved and forgiven, and then to love and forgive in return, then you'll fit right in. We don't cater to any one particular group unless that group is "sinners in need of a savior, or sinners saved by grace, though faith." If it's starting to sound like a commune, just wait...it gets worse. You see, the reason we strive to love and forgive one another is because love casts out fear and Christ first loved us (1 John 4:18-19). Furthermore, we believe that our sovereign God is best worshiped and glorified when we offer to one another the same grace that's been offered to us, and that truly is our chief end - to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We sing Psalms and hymns almost exclusively. It's not because we think Isaac Watts and Charles Wesley were divinely inspired. We don't think that at all. Rather, it's because we believe our worship should be deep, meaningful, majestic, and in accord with the teaching of scripture. Sadly, most worship music put out today is lacking at least two of those criteria, so we stick with what we feel certain will be honoring to God instead of what makes us feel like good singers. Finally, we are diverse. We are not united by our ethnicity, class, education, politics, hobbies, or anything else of that sort. Rather, we are united by one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all (Eph 4:4-6). We are further united by the good news of the Bible that this same God and Father sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfectly obedient life, to die on a Roman cross, and to be raised victorious over death and the grave as the first fruits of the resurrection to come; and all of that so sinful men and women and boys and girls (like us) could be reconciled to himself. By grace alone, through faith alone, and on account of Jesus Christ alone, we are reconciled to God and adopted as heirs to life everlasting. We thus believe that we exist to glorify and enjoy God, not only in the future, but also right now by the power of the Holy Spirit. More than any else, that is what unites us. If you actually finished reading all of that and you are either curious to know more, or perhaps even feel like family already, then please don't hesitate to come and worship with us. We hope to see you soon.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1–2

Every now and then, it's important to remind people that "Presbyterian" is a form of church government and not necessarily a uniform system of doctrine.

I recently read a post where the author cited a Presbyterian "minister," and what this "minister" said was more in line with what you might hear from a worshiper of satan.

So, to anyone perusing this page (and as a reminder to all of you Reformed folks out there), Paul warned about wolves from the outside and false teachers from within. If you want to know if a Presbyterian Church is going to try grooming your kids or will encourage infanticide, check the suffix. What kind of Presbyterian Church is it?

Some Presbyterian denominations have completely departed from orthodoxy, which makes sense since the mainline (PCUSA) denomination decided almost 100 years ago that the Bible was a book of fairy tales. There are plenty of solid Presbyterian churches that are dedicated to holding the line with Biblical teaching and no compromise. We are among them. Please don't judge our doctrine simply because there are heretical (perhaps consciously evil) community groups that call themselves Presbyterian churches.

A Presbyterian “minister” claimed during a sermon that Jesus would serve as a clinic es**rt and that women who end their pregnancies would be “blessed.” She even proposed what she called a “new beatitude”: “Blessed are those who end their pregnancies.”

This DIRECTLY contradicts Scripture, which consistently portrays God as the author of life and describes the unborn as known and formed by Him (Psalm 139:13; Jeremiah 1:5). In the Gospels, Jesus welcomed children, protected the vulnerable, and never declared the taking of innocent life to be righteous. While He extended compassion to sinners, His message was always one of repentance and restoration — not redefining sin as blessed.

Whatever “Jesus” this woman serves…it is NOT the Jesus of Nazareth from the Bible! Agreeing with this kind of teaching because you like it more than what the Bible says WILL SEND YOU TO HELL.
