It’s getting real!
This is Pastor Lauren’s last week with us as our Associate Pastor before she heads to Cabot as Senior Pastor. We will celebrate her three years of service, commitment, and love THIS Sunday—she’s preaching and presiding over Communion in both services—and we will have a reception for her from 9:40-10:30 in the Family Hall.
Yesterday was Pastor Lauren DeLano Grosskopf’s last time with More Than Manna for a while. Pastor Lauren has been involved with More Than Manna for three years and has served as Staff Liaison to volunteers for the last two years.
She said “It was a gift to support this ministry and to meet so many kind and gracious people. The kitchen crew (the weekly volunteers) are compassionate and have a heart for serving people. The guests at MTM have formed a beautiful community where they pray for one another and care for one another.
As I leave Russellville First and MTM, I will miss the welcoming feeling on Sunday evenings. Everyone is welcome to gather, to share their joys and concerns, to receive communion. The table is wide and the laughter and joy is expansive. I’ll miss Terry playing the piano and the earnestness of those who come to receive communion each week. Most of all I’ll miss the hugs. If you need a reminder that you are loved, stop by MTM one Sunday night and you will leave filled to the brim with love.”
We will miss Pastor Lauren very much and we wish her, her family, and her new community and congregation the best. Thank you, Pastor Lauren!
