One Bro. Lance talked about yesterday šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™he be able to get the treatment

UPDATE in above post!

Here’s my post from early this morning:

It’s a big day for 15-year-old Will Roberts and his family members.
They will be hearing from doctors who will checking Will’s platelet numbers and his latest test results to determine if he’s ready to make the trip west.
Will has to be cleared to travel before he makes a trip that could save his life.

You’ve probably heard the news.
It was days ago when Will recorded a heartfelt video about his fight with bone cancer.
Word got to Washington, DC, and the Roberts heard from some of the top movers and shakers in the nation’s capital including Dr. Oz, who helped the Roberts get lined up with a facility in Santa Monica that administers an experimental treatment called DeltaRex-G.

It’s going to be a very hectic week for the family, as within days the Roberts of Ralph, AL could be packing up and headed west.
They could be staying in the Los Angeles area for days, weeks, months or even years.
The unknown alone is enough to add more stress to all.

I think it would be very nice of us to pray that this family finds peace in what is about to be an even more anxious, stressful time.

May our support give the Roberts a sense of confidence and hope.

May we continue to remind Will, his parents Jason and Brittney, his sister Charlie and his grandma that we are with them during this next stage of their journey.

Can You Imagine How Mary Felt 😢

I like the Christmas story perspective of Mary and Jesus. It’s sweet, and special.
It’s beautiful.

But today I wandered towards the end of the gospels, to dive into the darkest moments of their time on earth.

I found myself weeping, in the back of a car I was riding in (trying to contain my tears from my kids), as I really thought about the last time Mary, a normal loving mama like me, saw her baby.

Mary witnessed much of the horrific abuse her son endured that Friday.

Things no mother should ever have to even imagine, let alone witness.

Powerless and helpless, what could she do?

I imagine her running after him, easily willing to give her life to protect the man she held as a baby boy. The one who had her heart.

I imagine those with her holding her back as she sobbed, reminding her she could do absolutely nothing to protect her son.

She followed Jesus and the crowd up the hill to where He was nailed to a cross.

John 19:26 says, ā€œWhen Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciples whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, ā€œDear woman, here is your son,ā€ and to the disciple, ā€œhere is your motherā€. From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.ā€

This is where the tears came for me.

Because typically when I think about this story, my heart aches for Mary.

But when I read this today, I saw Jesus, the man, as an actual son.

Who loved his mom.

Who, even though he was hung on a cross in the type of pain and agony we can not imagine…

He wanted to leave knowing she was taken care of.

He didn’t look around and make sure everyone else had someone to look after them- in that moment- it was his mom He was worried about.

I think this touched me so much, because sometimes I forget how human Jesus was, you know?

A baby who was held and nursed by her, a boy who was nurtured by her, and now a man who knew the love and comfort of His mom..

He had to say goodbye to her, and even as He was dying, He saw her. I can only imagine the heartache of our real-human-Jesus.

Perhaps you are watching a parent, or child, or someone you love suffer.

I just want to remind you.. you with the broken heart, you carrying the heavy burdens, you who feels broken..

This is Jesus. Fully human. Fully understanding of our emotions because He actually experienced them.

He’s also fully God. So when He meets you in your sorrow, He can do what other people can’t.

I just wanted you to know that He isn’t ā€œtoo divineā€ to understand what you’re going through.

He’s not out of touch with our experiences.

Just look at how He loved His mom.

So here is a lesson my papa taught me years ago on an deer hunt. I tried to pass this along to those I take hunting.
The bloodtrail is awesome because at times it is the only thing that connect us to to the animal that gave his life for us. If we lose the bloodtrail, we can lose the animal. If you get off the bloodtrail, it can take you through briars and thickets that just waste time. At times it is hard to follow and requires work, other times it is easy to see. Sometimes the bloodtrail takes you right through the briars, but it still leads you to the prize.
In our faith, Jesus left a bloodtrail. When we lose sight of it, we can get lost. When we stay on the bloodtrail, even though the briars of life tear at us and tangle us up, we are making progress toward the prize. The bloodtrail leads to the lamb that gave his life for us. This bloodtrail leads right to the foot of the cross.
Stay on the blood trail!

The next time someone tells you they don’t go to church because it’s filled with hypocrites, tell them if a hypocrite is standing between you and God, he’s closer to God than you are!

Don’t let anything keep you from church on Sunday that wouldn’t keep you from work on Monday.
