Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change.

As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?'

'Yes' he replied.

'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people are watching us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself' Christian.'

Watch your thoughts ; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

We at Calvary Chapel have been blessed to have wonderful men of God within our church family, Brother John Cates being one of them. We ask for prayers at this time for his family and friends.

If you knew anything about John, you know how he loved the Lord and wanted everyone else to know Jesus as he did. There is no greater comfort in this life than knowing the love of Jesus, knowing that your eternal life is safe in His hands. If you don't know Him as your Lord and Savior, it's not too late. You can be saved right this minute, right where you are.

He can transform your life in ways you couldn't imagine. All you have to do is believe that He is who He says He is. Believe that he laid down his life for your salvation, repent of your sins and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. It doesn't cost you a thing, there is no better gift you could ever receive.

Brother John carried Jesus in his heart and we know he is now in His presence alongside other great men, like Brother Joe Carrico. You will be greatly missed John, but what a glorious day it must be in Heaven.

Happy Easter friends! What a beautiful Sunday to celebrate the fact that OUR SAVIOR LIVES!!! Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for us because He loves each and everyone of us despite our wicked ways. There is no love greater than the love of Jesus. I pray that each of you out there have experienced that love, that you know and recognize that unconditional love of God. If you don't know Jesus as your Savior, what better day than today?

I hope you have a blessed day with your loved ones and I hope you thank the Lord for the gift of salvation!

God bless you,
Bro. Tim Harris

Good Sunday morning friends! It was a stormy night, but the sun is shining bright as I look out my window today. We want to invite and encourage you to join our service this morning on a.m. 610 WRUS from 9:30-9:45. We will be talking about the importance of not only asking God for forgiveness, but also in repenting (turning away from) our sin.

Do you feel like you've strayed away from God recently? It's not too late to get back on the right path, God's path. If you don't know Jesus this morning, there is no better time than right now to welcome Him into your heart. He's there friends, waiting for you to choose heaven over hell. He's there, offering you the free gift of salvation. All you have to do is ask for forgiveness of your sins, repent and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior.

We want to ask everyone to continue to pray for our dear friend Glenn Hatler, his wife Linda and their family. They are a shining light at Calvary Chapel and we are praying for a complete healing in the name of Jesus. AMEN!

God bless you all,
Bro. Tim Harris
