Dear church family,

After consulting with our trustees, who oversee the use and safety of our building, we made the difficult decision to cancel church today due to the weather. We recognize that our financial struggles are real, and missing a week’s offering is very challenging. At the same time, we cannot allow financial concerns to take precedence over the safety and well-being of our congregation.

In Scripture, we see that God’s people have often given faithfully even when they were not physically gathered together. For example, the churches in Macedonia and Achaia collected an offering and sent it to support the believers in Jerusalem, even though they were far away and not meeting in the same place. (Romans 15:25–26; 2 Corinthians 8–9) Their generosity reminds us that giving is an act of worship that can continue wherever we are.

We are praying that, in the same spirit, our congregation will remain faithful in giving during this snowstorm. We have an offering box in the door on the paved side of our building, and offerings may also be sent or dropped off at our church office during the week.

Thank you for your faithfulness and for caring for one another in this season.

The Russell UMC Youth Group is having a fundraiser. Buy your favorite Valentine some chocolate. Fundraiser will be in before Valentine’s Day. You can either comment your order on this post or call the Church office and place your order or let us know at Church on Sunday. Thank you!

Hello everyone. With Church being cancelled today, we would like to remind everyone that you can drop off your weekly giving at the Church. There is a Dropbox on the paved parking lot side in the door, There is an offering plate in back of Church and Karen will be at the Church tomorrow so you could also drop off to her. Thank you for your giving this year. Jill will pick up the envelopes on Tuesday to make the deposit before end of year. Please be careful in the parking lot and if anyone can’t get out and would need us to pick it up, just let me know and I can come get it from you. Thank you and have a Happy New Year!
