After careful consideration, The Grasse River Food Pantry has decided not to renew their partnership agreement with the Food Bank of Central NY. The new partnership agreement contains a number of requirements that we are not willing to meet.

The Grasse River Food Pantry was established in 1998, so we have been striving to meet a need of our community for over 25 years. Our success has been made possible by many dedicated individuals and organizations who have contributed generously.

We are very grateful to all who have supported the food pantry over the years. The food pantry has always enjoyed strong community support. That support will be even more important now as we will lose some grant opportunities and the ability to buy food from the Food Bank.

Those who use the food pantry should notice very little difference. Food distribution will continue to be on the second Wednesday of each month. As always, in case of emergency, contact Marsha Maynard.

Today is May 13th and I want to thank Katherine Meilleur for all her efforts as a good neighbor and mail carrier to collect food donations on her route. Also thank all the good neighbors who donated. It is very helpful in meeting our obligations to our community There are many caring people in the area. 👍
