“He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.”
Proverbs 17:9 KJV

There is a difference between dealing with an offense and holding onto it.

This verse isn’t telling us to ignore sin or pretend hurt doesn’t exist. But it is reminding us that love doesn’t keep reopening wounds that have already been addressed.

It’s easy to replay a hurt. To bring it up again. To keep reminding ourselves what someone said or did.

But Proverbs says that repeating a matter separates close friends.

Love chooses a different path.

Love forgives.

Love extends grace.

Love doesn’t keep score.

If God treated us the way we sometimes treat others, where would we be?

Sometimes the most Christlike thing we can do is let go of what we’ve already forgiven.

God bless America. 🇺🇸

Today, we’re thankful for the freedoms we enjoy, especially the freedom to worship and share the Gospel.

We’re grateful for the men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect those freedoms!

America gave you freedom. Christ made you free.

“And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

Paul didn’t want the thorn. He prayed for God to take it away. And honestly, who could blame him?

Most of us have things we’d rather not carry. Burdens we’d rather set down. Situations we’d rather see changed.

But God’s answer wasn’t what Paul expected.

He didn’t remove the thorn.

He reminded Paul of His grace!

Sometimes we pray for God to take away the struggle, and sometimes He does.

But sometimes He gives us the strength to keep going through it.

Not because the burden isn’t real, but because His grace is!

And maybe that’s what we need to remember this week.

God’s strength shines brightest in the places where we know we can’t do it on our own.

Despite the rain, we were blessed with an amazing turnout for Vacation Bible School! ☔

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and prayed for this special day. We had a wonderful time learning about Jesus, making memories, and enjoying fellowship together.

God truly blessed our VBS!

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 1:6 KJV

We all want growth, but most of us struggle with the process.

We want the finished product. We want to be stronger, wiser, more patient, and closer to God.

But God works in seasons.

Sometimes He’s teaching us. Sometimes He’s stretching us. Sometimes He’s working on things in our hearts that nobody else can see.

And honestly, there are times when it feels like we’re not making much progress at all.

That’s why I love this verse.

The responsibility isn’t on us to finish the work. It’s on us to stay faithful while God does it.

He hasn’t given up on us.

And He hasn’t stopped working, even when we can’t see it.

What God starts, He finishes.

We spend a lot of time wondering what God wants from us. We pray about it, think about it, and look for some big answer.

But then you come across a verse like Micah 6:8.

Do justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly with thy God.

Treat people right. Show grace. Stay close to the Lord.

Not just on Sundays and not just when it’s convenient, but every day.

It’s a simple verse, but if we’re honest, it’s enough to keep us busy for a lifetime.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”
Hebrews 10:25 KJV

We weren’t meant to do this alone.

If we aren’t careful, we begin to think of church as a place we go for an hour or two each week. However, the focus isn’t really on a building.

It’s on people.

Encouraging one another. Strengthening one another. Reminding each other of what’s true when life gets heavy.

God knew we’d need that!

There are days when our faith feels strong, and there are days when we need somebody else’s faith to help carry us for a while. That’s one reason gathering together matters so much.

Not because God needs us in a building.
Because we need each other.

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
Luke 1:37 KJV

Most of us love this verse when things are going well. It’s a little harder to hold onto when we’re staring at something that isn’t.

When the situation hasn’t changed, the prayer hasn’t been answered, the numbers don’t add up, and there doesn’t seem to be a way forward.

That’s what makes this verse so powerful. God didn’t say this after everything worked out. He said it before.

Before the miracle, before the answer, before anyone could see how it was all going to come together.

And maybe that’s where faith really gets tested. Not after God makes a way, but when there doesn’t seem to be one.

Because “nothing shall be impossible” isn’t just a statement about what God can do. It’s a reminder of who He is, and who He is has never depended on what we can see.
