Dozens of pastors from one of the largest underground churches in China have been detained. It is reportedly the biggest crackdown on Christians by the communist regime since 2018.

Chinese police have detained Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri, the founder of Zion Church, at his home in the southern city of Beihai last Friday evening, his daughter Grace Jin told the media, from the U.S.

The long-time pastor has been under surveillance for years, and he is barred from leaving China.

Life is fragile and dangerous for Christians living in the northern and Middle Belt regions of Nigeria. They face violence that often leads to death, the destruction of their homes, villages and places of worship. Ultimately, they are forced to flee from the danger which creates mass displacement for tens of thousands.

It is a growing crisis that involves more than three million Christians who are being persecuted because of their faith. Islamic terror groups are behind the vicious attacks and the Nigerian government appears to be doing very little to stop the brutality. Making matters worse, recent studies on persecution show the atrocities committed in Nigeria account for nearly 70 percent of all Christians killed globally.

Father God we pray for the people of Texas. We continue to pray for a miracle in finding those who were lost in the flood. We pray for those grieving the loss of loved ones. We mourn with them. We pray you would comfort them and give them peace. We lift up all first responders and pray for protection and safety for them. We pray for the communities that were affected by this flood and ask that you’d help them heal, rebuild, and bring restoration. Please be merciful to the people of Texas. Father God, we beg for your mercy for California! Please send water from heaven to put out the fires. Stop the winds! Bring peace and comfort to those who have lost loved ones and property. Protect the first responders and those whose homes and businesses are at risk. We pray you would take away the fear and anxiety that blanket the entire region and replace it with hope, joy and love. Help them turn to you Jesus. Only a God like you can bring beauty from ashes. Please be merciful. In Jesus’ name, amen.
