Sonshiners Kick Off Brunch!

Hey Sonshiners
A quick E-Mail to remind you that our first Sonshiner Meeting for the 2026-2027 season is going to be this coming Tuesday September 1st. For some reason there has be some confusion that it was going to be Sept. 8th.
Please mark your calendar for September 1st. We will begin at 10:00am in the gymnasium.
It will be a brunch so be thinking which of your amazing dishes you are going to bring and share with us.
I will be letting you know about the artist we have lined up and our new activities director Pat Russell will be filling us in on some of the amazing trips she has planned for us this season.
I will send out another reminder E-Mail on Monday as well as a "One Call" reminder.
I look forward to seeing some of you that I haven't seen since spring. If you are still up north we can't wait till you back down here at home. We pray you have a safe trip down.

Tuesday was our last meeting until September, and today was our last trip until September, and it was a good one!
We went to The Florida Air Museum in Lakeland. It was a great tour with so much to see. They have many exhibits:
NOAA: The science behind weather
NASA
Howard Hughes Flight Lounge
Air Racing
Military Aviation
Simulators
A Resource Library
Beuhler Aerospace Skills Center
There even is a high school on the grounds!
CENTRAL FLORIDA AEROSPACE ACADEMY

Afterwards, we went to Gaskins BBQ and Lobster, oh my! It was fantastic!

Today was the last Sonshiner meeting for the 2025-2026 season! Where has the time gone?!
The brunch today was great and we are looking forward to September!
Thank you Cindy for all the great trips you planned. We appreciate you. Now you can sit back and enjoy the upcoming trips Pat has planned. Well, that is after your final trip on Thursday! 😀
Thank you Jim, Cindy, Wayne, Pat, Carol, and all who help set up and and prepare for our meetings and trips!

Sonshiner End of Year Brunch

Hey Sonshiners

I hope you had a Blessed Mom’s Day yesterday.

We have reached the end of our 26th season. It has been an amazing 26 years. Yet as is often said, it doesn’t seem possible that it has been that long.

Yet we have such wonderful memories.

As our tradition has been for several years, we will have an “End of the Season Brunch” to close out this season, and to also let you know what is in store for next season.

So, our brunch will begin at 10:00am, Tuesday May 12th in the gymnasium.

Please bring that world famous brunch dish you make or that recipe you have been wanting to try and bring enough to share.

Also, Pat Russell our new “Activities Director” will be letting you know about this coming season’s trips. You will also be the first to be able to sign up for the first couple trips.

We are going to have a wonderful time around the brunch table, fellowshipping, reminiscing, and sharing memories.

Tuesday May 12th at 10:00am in the gymnasium.

So, park in the back parking lot, to give you easy access to the gymnasium.

If you have already gone back up north for the summer, we will miss you but really look forward to seeing you when you get back.

If I don’t see you at the meeting, I hope you have an enjoyable and safe summer.

We love you all and are blessed to be able to minister to each and everyone of you, as we do life and ministry together.

May Meeting
May 12th

Hey Sonshiners
We had a great time on our Spring Fling Trip to Pigeon Forge. If you were not able to make it we missed you but we did have a wonderful time.
A quick note that our next meeting will be on Tuesday May 12th. I know this is not the 1st Tuesday of the month but due to me being out of town for the 1st Tuesday we are rescheduling the meeting for Tuesday May 12th.
Don't forget that this is our end of the year Brunch. So bring that "World Famous Brunch Dish" of yours for us to try. We will be telling you about next season's artists and trips so you won't want to miss this wonderful brunch.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday May 12th.
Also don't forget that May 10th is Mom's Day for all the Moms out there, "May God bless you" for all you did for your children and families. For all of us may we honor all the Moms in our families.

There is a saying, “all good things must come to an end,” and the 2026 Senior Sonshiner Spring Fling is completed! We left Roswell, GA this morning, stopped for a late lunch and even stopped at Buc-ee’s, and arrived back in Ruskin a little after 6.
It was a great week with too much food, some great shows, fun games on the bus, absolutely stunning scenery, and meeting some new friends!
I wonder where we will go next time??? 🧭

We started our day with a cozy,warm gathering for a private show with Patty Waszak in the Red Skeleton Tribute Theatre. She is a Sonshiner favorite! So much talent and s***k! She had us laughing, singing, and exercising in between her stories, jokes, songs, and instrumentals!
Afterwards, we went to The Island in Pigeon Forge. It is a very neat area of shops, many eateries, general store, rides, and a water fountain show.
After that, we got back on the bus and started making our way home! We stopped at Cheddars for dinner, and arrived at our hotel in Roswell, GA about 10 pm tired, but smiling!
