Possible Eastside Event: Read this from Melissa Thrift, and comment on this post if you would be interested in an educational seminar at Eastside.
Hey, Friend! I pray that y'all are doing great!
I'm reaching out because I'm noticing something in my job as a Medicare broker. People do not know who they can trust! Our 60-year-olds and older are bombarded DAILY with phone call, ads and commercials, all claiming to be the best thing for them. Sadly, many are "tricked" into plans that don't benefit them, or WORSE, harm them by not covering the costs of care and medications. My go to phrase is " You don't know what you don't know." And it's very true!
It got me thinking.... and this is where I want to be a blessing if the Lord allows. Like I mentioned, I'm a BROKER. That means I work for my client. I don't work for an insurance company. I don't have to push plans. I don't get paid by my clients. I get to simply link arms with my client, show them the options out there for them, answer their questions, and then help them with their applications. When I started this position, my boss told me that she feels it is a ministry. After doing this for a while, I HAVE to agree. This period of turning 65 and beginning Medicare can be so frightening, simply due to lack of understanding. And there's no more trusted place for resources than our place of worship.
So that is my job. I get to make SURE my client understands each part, each piece and each decision of Medicare. And I would love to do that for your people. If you have 1 person or 20 people that could benefit from a fellow Christian sitting with them over some coffee and going over all of this information, I would be thrilled to be that person for them. It costs them NOTHING and there is no obligation or expectation of "buying" anything. It's simply a chance for education so that, when the time comes, they know what direction to go when making their decisions. And they can do so confidently!
If you are at all interested in hosting a little Education Event for your people, let me know! I can't express to you how much I enjoy watching the light come on and that "Oh, now I get it" moment. It would be an honor to be your trusted Medicare broker. At the same time, PLEASE don't feel in any way obligated to say "yes" to this, just because it's a friend or ministry partner asking. It isn't for everyone, but I'm here if it's a good fit for you.
Love Eastside so much. Have a truly blessed day!
