There is something really special about stopping by, to pray at the church, when no one is there. It makes you realize, this is the place where hope is found.

A place where people are devoted to one another. (Acts 2:42)
A place where we sharpen one another when we’ve lost our way.
A place where you’ll hear the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

Come find the place where He shapes your story for His glory and works all things together for good. (Romans 8:28)

Maybe tomorrow is the beginning of something new!

As Pastor Appreciation Month comes to an end, I wanted to take a minute to say how incredibly thankful I am for our pastor, who also happens to be my husband. ❤️

One of the things I’m most thankful for about Josh is that he is the same man behind the pulpit that he is at home. He’s the same guy on Sunday morning that he is on Monday in the cattle-working pen. What you see is what you get.

He has loved me and our girls incredibly well. He has loved and welcomed the men God brought into our girls’ lives and encouraged them as they lead families of their own. He loves our JoJo girl with more joy than I can even put into words. He honors his parents. He is a true friend.

But above all, he loves the Lord with every ounce of his being.

He loves Him in the hard seasons.
He trusts Him in the uncertain ones.
And he celebrates BIG with Him when we reach the mountaintops and when we get to see the harvest.

He loves the Church with his whole heart, and he truly believes the Church is the hope of the world. He has given his life to loving people, preaching the Word, and pointing people to Jesus, and I’ve had the privilege of watching him live it just as faithfully when no one is watching.

I’m thankful every day for the gift Josh is to me as a husband, but I’m also eternally grateful that I get to call him my pastor.

Thank you, Josh Abbott, for loving and leading our family and our church so well. I’m so thankful I get to walk beside you. ❤️

Today I’m on my way home after some much-needed time away with my wife, and I’m just incredibly thankful.

I’m thankful for a church and for elders who not only support sabbatical time, but encourage it. I’m thankful for faithful men of God like Justin, who can step in and be trusted to faithfully preach God’s Word.

And church, I’m thankful for YOU. Thank you for loving us, supporting us, praying for us, and giving us the space to step away and be refreshed.

We continue to use this time to dig deeper into His Word, spend intentional time together, pray, and begin planning for the year ahead. We’re grateful, and excited for what God has in store.

What a beautiful Sunday at VF! ❤️ At our last Backyard Bible Study, we celebrated as a few of our GZ students and VF Kids took the next step in their walk with Jesus through baptism. Even more special, some of our GZ students gave their lives to Christ and made decisions during Extreme Weekend!

There’s nothing sweeter than watching the next generation encounter Jesus, make their faith their own, and take steps to follow Him. We’re so thankful for what God is doing in the lives of our kids and students! 🙌

Our J.O.Y. Group (aka our “just older youth”) was out and about this week having a great time doing life together!

If you’re 50+, get plugged in with this crazy crew! We can’t promise they’ll keep you out of trouble… but we CAN promise you’ll have some pretty great company while you’re in it. 😂❤️

“I am so grateful for the leader and pastor that Josh is. He isn’t willing to sit back and watch the people God has entrusted to him settle for less than what God created them for.

He loves God with his whole heart, and he refuses to let fear, or anything else, keep him from helping people grow, challenging them to become who God has called them to be, and building the Kingdom.

C3 Conference will be here before we know it! 🙌

For over 10 years, C3 has been a conference our church has looked forward to attending, a time to be sharpened, encouraged, and equipped with practical tools, wisdom, and knowledge from other leaders who are passionate about building the Kingdom.

And we want YOU to know this invitation is open to anyone in our church who would like to attend with us!

🎟️ Conference tickets are $80 per person.
🏨 You will be responsible for your own lodging, but discounted hotel rates are available through the conference.

We’ll have a meeting in a few weeks to go over travel, lodging, and all the other details.

If you plan to attend, please have your $80 turned in to Julie by Wednesday, October 28!
