Today, we celebrate fathers, the ones that worked and provided our needs, the ones that taught us how to fish, to change the oil in our cars, fix a flat tire, plant a garden, etc. It was no different at my home, my dad taught me all about life, most importantly he taught me that life without God is not a life at all. He took us to church, he sent us to Christian schools, he made sure that we knew that there was nothing more important than serving God and putting Him first in our lives. My Dad, to this day lives by Joshua 24:15, "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose and ye dwell: BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD." My Dad was my first hero, my first best friend and I think God every day that Wayne Jones was chosen by God to be my earthly father. For the record, he is still my hero and still my best friend.
Daddy always knows when I'm down, just this week he called just to tell me that he is praying that God will lift this burden from me, but he also reminded me that if we earnestly pray and seek God's will that God will answer our prayers. Philippians 4:6, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication let your requests be known unto God." Thank you Dad, for all that you provided for me throughout my life, and think you for still inspiring me in everything. I Love You!
