❤️ First Annual Love Royse City: Neighbors Helping Neighbors

This morning marked the first annual Love Royse City volunteer event, a community-wide service day initiated by the Royse City Pastors Alliance. The event brought together more than a dozen pastors representing multiple denominations, along with city leaders, local businesses, and over 200 community volunteers.

Volunteers completed service projects at local schools and throughout the community. Prayer tents were also set up at multiple locations across the city, providing opportunities for residents to receive prayer, encouragement, and support.

What makes this effort so unique is the compassionate approach behind it.

Through Code Enforcement and an online signup process, needs were identified throughout Royse City involving litter, deteriorating properties, code concerns, and neighborhood eyesores. In many cases, residents simply did not have the financial resources, physical ability, equipment, or support needed to address these issues on their own.

Instead of beginning with fines and enforcement, our community asked a different question:

How can we help?

City leaders, pastors, businesses, and volunteers came alongside residents to clean properties, remove debris, address concerns, and improve neighborhoods. The goal was about more than beautification—it was about neighbors helping neighbors and finding a compassionate way to address issues affecting our entire community.

The first annual Love Royse City event demonstrated what can happen when local government, churches, businesses, and residents work together. People from across the community served side by side with one shared purpose: caring for the people and the city we all call home.

The City of Royse City has officially proclaimed September 17–23 as Constitution Week.
This annual observance commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787, and encourages residents to reflect on the enduring principles, freedoms, and responsibilities established by this historic document.
We extend our appreciation to the Daughters of the American Revolution for promoting civic education and preserving the history and legacy of the U.S. Constitution.
Bells Across America: On September 17 at 3:00 p.m. CDT, residents are encouraged to step outside and ring bells for one minute to mark the exact moment of the signing.
Please join us in celebrating Constitution Week and honoring the document that continues to guide our nation. 🇺🇸

The Library will continue to be closed Tuesday, September 8 through Saturday, September 12 due to ongoing repairs.

I-30 Nightly Closure Notice
TxDOT has announced nightly closures of the I-30 eastbound main lanes from FM 2642 to FM 1565 for construction of the new CR 2511 bridge.

Sept. 8–9: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Sept. 10: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The inside westbound lane will also be closed.

The FM 2642 intersection at the I-30 frontage roads will be closed.

Eastbound traffic will exit at Exit 79, use the frontage road, and re-enter near FM 1565. Drivers needing access to Verandah Boulevard should use Exit 85 and the FM 36 underpass.

Motorists traveling from SH 66 on FM 2642 can take the I-30 westbound frontage road to FM 35, then travel east to reach Buc-ee’s and Royse City High School.

Closures may change due to weather or construction conditions. Please slow down, follow posted signs, avoid distractions, and watch for road crews.

Monday–Saturday: 11 AM–7 PM
Sunday: 12:30–5 PM
