We rejoice in the many blessings of this pilgrimage and the opportunity to encounter Christ in these holy places. May the witness of St. Francis, St. Clare, and Blessed Carlo Acutis strengthen our faith and inspire all the faithful of the Diocese of Palm Beach to live the Gospel with renewed zeal. Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and all those forever impacted by that tragic day. We honor the courage of first responders, the sacrifice of so many heroes, and the resilience of our nation.

As people of faith, we unite in prayer for the victims, their families, and all who continue to carry the wounds of that day. May we never forget, and may we always be instruments of peace, compassion, and hope.

𝐀 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡
Earlier today, before their encounter with Pope Leo XIV, Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez joined his brother bishops for Holy Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, near the Chair of St. Peter (Cathedra Petri).

The Mass was presided over by Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, O.F.M. Conv., Vicar General of His Holiness for Vatican City and Archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica.
Following the celebration of Mass, the bishops made their way to the tomb of St. Peter beneath the main altar, praying at the resting place of the Apostle upon whom Christ built His Church.

“Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam.”
“You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church.” (Matthew 16:18)
From this sacred place, Bishop Manuel joins his brother bishops in praying for the Church and for the people entrusted to their pastoral care, as they continue their formation and service to the People of God.

Join us this Saturday as we pray for those who were recently laid to rest and for those throughout our lives. We owe the deceased our prayers and the wish for each of them: “that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion at the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:4-6).

Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez and Bishop Emeritus Gerald M. Barbarito will celebrate this Mass.
