Josué Raimundo
With heavy hearts yet anchored in the unshakable hope of the gospel, we share the news of the homegoing of our dear brother and fellow shepherd, Josué Raimundo, who entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on December 30, 2025.
For many years, Josué served as the dedicated pastor of Iglesia Bíblica de la Gracia in Alexandria, Virginia, faithfully preaching the Scriptures with clarity, conviction, and a heart overflowing with love for God's people. His expository ministry—rooted in the grace of Christ—nourished souls, equipped believers for discipleship, and pointed countless hearts toward the sovereign goodness of God. As a valued member of the FIRE (Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals) Board, Josué brought wisdom, humility, humor, and a passion for gospel-centered unity among the body of Christ.
Josué was a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Terri, with whom he shared a beautiful partnership in life, family, and ministry. Their marriage was a living testimony to the sustaining power of God's grace and the joy of walking together in faith. He was also a loving father and grandfather, treasuring every moment with his family and modeling for them what it means to live wholeheartedly for Christ.
To the congregation of Iglesia Bíblica de la Gracia and the wider FIRE family, Josué was a pastor, brother, mentor, encourager, and friend. His warm spirit, steadfast trust in God's promises, and commitment to biblical truth brought comfort in trials, clarity in confusion, and courage in the face of challenges. He lived out the words of the apostle Paul: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).
Though our grief is deep at this sudden loss, we do not mourn as those without hope. Josué is now absent from the body and present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8), beholding the face of Jesus whom he loved, proclaimed, and served so faithfully. We look forward to the day when we will reunite in the presence of our risen Savior, where death is swallowed up in victory and every tear is wiped away forever.
We especially lift up Terri and the entire family in prayer, asking the God of all comfort to envelop them in His peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and to sustain them through these tender days.
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15).
