Once upon a long time ago, theatre was believed to be such a low art form, that women were forbidden from taking part in it. All roles were played by men including female roles. They were among the first female impersonators. Everything evolves over time. Drag has evolved into not only entertainment but as form of identity for many performers. Did you know that male impersonators and drag kings are a thing! They have been a part of the human fabric since the beginning of time in all cultures.

You may be offended. You may think it immoral. I say, that is your problem to deal with not theirs. I say that as a Christian who believes all human beings are entitled to love, respect, and safety. They are entitled to be seen and valued as children of God. Even at the Olympics.

In this season of Resurrection please recognize what has been resurrected in you. Let it be peace, love and joy. Right now I celebrate the resurrection of a relationship with someone I love very much and have missed with every fiber of my being. The love and sacrifice of Christ makes resurrection possible for all of us.
Blessed Lord, I am unworthy of the gift of your body and blood. I pray you make me appreciative and worthy. Give me the tools I need to be your face and your message to the world. How can I not love you! I celebrate forgiveness everlasting through your work on the cross. May my heart be ever open, may my mind always recognize the work you are doing in my life, and may my soul rejoice unceasing! In His Holy name, Amen.

So many of us are facing this Christmas with a soul deep sadness. We are grieving the loss of a a loved, we have family members suffering with a devastating illness, or our own health is causing worry and pain. We are facing circumstances beyond our control that have left us angry and confused and we are wondering where does it end? Maybe we are shedding tears that leave us feeling helpless and alone. And maybe, we are quite literally ALONE. Where is comfort and peace? Where do we lay our despair? Why not leave it at the feet of a loving and compassionate Jesus.
I would like to invite you to bring your broken self and join us at New Brook United Methodist Church, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, 6:30pm to share in our Service of Healing and Lament. Join us in prayers and hands on healing and anointment. There will be music and loving fellowship. We will follow the service with open communion. All are invited and all are welcome. We sincerely hope to see some of you there.

Why can't we love life - all life- enough to do something about this. Some of you are losing your minds trying protect potential life but do nothing to protect innocent, living children. What am I missing here??

We honor God with our prayers. No matter what we call Him, He answers with grace and comfort. This is a beautiful prayer I felt needed sharing.
